I had ir grounded and one to the battery. That plug , assuming its the voltage regulator goes to the FLD terminal and nothing to the STA. Is that the starter side
I don't recall off-hand what's hooked to what, but I know that my alternator only has just a few of the pegs hooked up. There's two main wires, and then a third is a 7v source that goes to the electric choke to warm it up. If I remember this evening, I'll grab a pic and check the routing.
Check some local wrecking yards to see if they have similar year trucks, maybe you can find one with wiring intact. I've got an old voltage regulator and harness in the shed, looks like your plug and it terminates into a couple of Ford connector plugs plus a couple of ring terminals (one to the alternator and one to the relay, I think). Maybe post a couple photos of all the wiring around the battery/alternator. If you've got matching connectors you're welcome to it.
Per my manual, the red tab connects to the battery side of the relay, white tab connects to the regulator, black tab to the electric choke.

That was the way i connected based on the diagram except the lead to the choke. I wpuld assume that even withlut the choke , it wpuld charge the battery ?

once it stops raining I will post it. Thanks i appreciate the offer , we will see.
okay got it. Its the same thing on mine. Problem is the white tab and black tab were not connected to begin with. So its hars to locate the regulator at least and the manual doesnt state where it is exactly so i got to hunt it down before anything.

Thanks. The one thing that is troubling is where the the fan is mounted to, that specific place shakes when its turning. I cant see anything where i can fit a socket to tighten it or so. Anybody has haf this haooen before ?
On the 1st post, the fan is mounted. Post #55 indicates that the fan has been removed. Was the hub shaking with the fan mounted? If the 4 mounting bolts are securely fastened and then, when grabbing the ends of the fan, if the fan can be rocked [gently] from side to side, it is likely that the water pump bearings are worn out.

Yes, I can move the mount by hand both with and without the fan. I removed the fan if there was anything else where i can tightened but i got zip. The water oumo bearing is a good olace to start. Back tk the manual.
As for the electrical problem , i believe this model has an external voltage regulator based on the manual. As for the voltage regulator , it is completely missing so that might be the problem haha. Back to autozone
So the truck had a rough idle. I noticed the fan mount mount made a ton of noise and had a lot of play. As one of your suggested , it turned out to be the water pump so i unmounted it. Turns out this was the culprit. Check out the love marks on what i assume is the cylinder wall.
The machine marks on the #1 cylinder have nothing to do with the bad water pump. The impeller cutter goes deep enough to provide clearance even if there is some core shift on the casting. I've seen it on many engine teardowns.
BTW that cooling jacket looks really clean inside.

really ? Bevause that scrape seems to have been the water pump due to the amount of plau it had. Before i changed the water pump, it made a scraping/rattling noise. I changed the water pump and then no more noise.
Sarcasm ? Haha i have no idea how the inside is suppose to look like.
