Just to link the two threads - I've been talking with Sterling Equipment and Manufacturing in Florida about producing guards for our trucks. After telling the owner, Wade, our story - he brushed off some old files and found that he still has the CAD drawings for all the grille and brush guards they used to make for Bullnoses back in the 80s.
They are willing to build them, and the price is very good ($250 for a Mig-welded and powder coated Grille guard similar to mine in look)!
$700 is still competitive with newer "Ranch Hand" style brush guards. With a quick Google search those run $1000+ for OBS or Super Duty trucks.
Interestingly, I saw a "Ranch Hand" style bumper on a Bullnose in a slavage yard in Dallas, TX. It must have been modified to fit the frame or bumper, I didn't glance under the truck to see how it was secured.
The only other alternatives are to get a lucky find at a salvage yard or do what I did and call someone selling parts off of a Bullnose with a brush guard. FWIW, I called 3 different owners parting Bullnose trucks in Dallas, TX. I looked on CL and the truck I bought my brush guard off of is no longer posted. However, these were the other two brush guards I inquired about:
The owner of the truck in Mabank actually texted me back about selling parts off of his truck after a month or two. Maybe I should get ahold of him to see if I can get the IP off of his truck.

But I think the $1000 new guard is still gonna cost ya about $400 in shipping
so its probably about $1400 when all said and done.....

I agree.
FWIW, I bought my brush guard for $150. It does need to be refinshed, so that's goiung to be at least $100 for paint and stripping supplies.
The bummer is that these brush guards are so hard to find now in a slavage yard. Kudos to SCFlareside for finding an aftermarket source for these brush guards.
So if anyone is interested, in custom fabing their own tubes and accessories, I'll cut you some side frames and six tabs for the mounts, and you can source your own tubes.
This way you can save huge as compared to shipping an assembled guard.
Flap-disk sanded and "rough" install of side plates, WOW! they Fit! Will cut some tubes this afternoon....
Finally measured the side rails of the guard, the rails alone would be shipped in a box @ 25x 12x 3" and be @26 lbs, if your interested in a set...
This way its waaay cheaper and you can design your own tube set-up.
I can locate where the tubes go on a stock set-up. (like mine)
