@Nicmike the 2008 master cylinder that you used, did that simply bolt up to the original Ex hydroboost? Did the pushrod or anything need adjusting?
Was the final conclusion that the later model larger front rotors and calipers would NOT bolt on to the 05-08 axle. And you would need knew steering knuckles to make that happen?
@Dan V you mentioned that you are using a 2015 steering gear. What did you have to do to make that later model steering gear work in your conversion?

You, of course, need a 2015 gear. Then you need the firewall seal ( 7C3Z-3D677-A) for the steering shaft from a 2015. Then you need the lower and upper steering shaft (9C3Z3B676A and 7C3Z3E751B), which is from the rag joint to where it joins the steering column under the dash. Again, from a 2015. Use the power steering hoses document in the thread (Gates 365431 and 5c3z3a719c). If you have a front sway bar, that will have to be shimmed down to clear the bigger (2015) gear. And the gear mounting bolts are much bigger, so you'll be drilling the frame out and sourcing the proper length bolts (M16-2mm x 130 Qty3).
@Dan V thank you for your quick and detailed response. You may have posted it above somewhere (but I couldn't find it quickly), what year front axle are you using? Which year trac bar mount? Which year front sway bar? Does the drag link from the 05+ axles work with your 15 steering gear?

All the front axle components are from an 07....Short of the sway bar mount.....it's all plug and play. Some people feel the ride is better without the sway bars, so they leave it off.
Are there any more details about the 1.5" master cylinder to use? I think this thread says to use one from an 08. I was looking at Rock Auto, there are quite a few options to choose from.

I source a master cylinder that had double flare connections. The thread goes through what years has double flare and bubble flare. I used the track bar mount from the 07 axle I obtained. I think -5-07 are the same.

Yes, I recall the part about the double flare MC. I need to go back through the thread and see if there is any other details. I was hoping to be able to order a new master. Maybe I will need to go to Napa or something and look at the various ones to find the double flare.
I believe you are correct about the 05-07 track bar mounts. It's odd, for some reason there aren't any used ones that I am finding on the net, including ebay.
I was able to get the upper and lower steering shafts and steering gear from a 2015. So I will be doing that mod as well. (Thanks for that info @Dan V
There was talk that some master cylinders are bubble flare and others have the double flare. I am not sure how accurate the photos are on the Rock Auto site, but here is what I have observed. Please correct me if my observations are not accurate.
To be honest...I love to drive this truck now. I liked it before, but the combo of the coil ride, tighter turning radius and the brakes...it's just a win all the way around.
I was just at a wrecking yard today. They wanted $80 for a 2008 master cylinder with lord only knows how many miles on it. I told them they could keep it. Welcome to Los Angeles. Sometimes, it seems like the junkyards around here demand more money than a new part.
I am looking forward to doing my conversion.
I have a 2015 rear axle. Still looking for a VSS / ABS sensor solution since it has the e locker and the wheel sensors are at each wheel instead of the ring gear.

Yes, the '08 MC bolted right up...no need to do anything except bend the lines to the other side. The ports changed sides from the original.
If you mean 13 and up rotors and calipers, NO THEY WILL NOT BOLT ON to an 05-12 axle setup. It goes beyond needing new steering knuckles...
I had to re-flare the lines after cutting off my old hardware, and I installed the hardware/nuts that came with the '08 unit. Lines were the same size. Take some tubing cutters with you to the salvage yard, and get a few inches of the old lines and the flare nuts with the unit. The flare nuts on your old one will not work. New MCs use metric fittings...older ones were SAE.
I might have missed it in this thread, if so, my apologies for asking.
Front axle - are you able to keep the donor axles brake hoses and hard lines and simply connect the center brake hose from your vehicle? Or did you use the center brake hose on the donor axle? or some other scenario?
