2006LJ, has your truck been repaired yet? If so, have you had any problems with it since the repair?

I traded it in and purchased a 2018 6.2 two weeks ago -from a different dealer than the one working on my truck. The dealer that was working on it requested they keep it for another couple weeks and they were hoping that Ford would approve replacing the ABS module. It was a total pain in the ***.

And that is my heartburn....

Sometimes its covered, sometime it isn't, when on the face of things, the failures are similar.

The first dealership that worked on my truck tried to say that the computer issues were caused by my 35x12.5x20 tires and that if inspected by Ford they would likely not perform repairs due to modifications. I kindly pointed out that they had three trucks sitting on their lot with 37's and giant lifts which they were selling - there response was that this issue does not happen to all trucks, total crap. I then asked what happens when tires wear down, does that cause the computer problems....? In the end, the next dealer that worked on it said it had nothing to do with tires and dealers hate dealing with electrical problems.

I even offered to put stock tires back on truck. They have to warranty these problems.

Sorry the picture is sideways but I believe this white connector is the one the OP had issues with

This is the label on the 2 connectors on the passenger side

Just another picture to show the relative location

I am assuming this is the connector we are talking about. Correct? If moisture is an issue for any of these 4 connections (2 on each side) then I want to find a way to protect them. They are already wet.

Based on what I'm reading, loading the connector up with dielectric grease is the DIY method to "fix" the problem. It seems to me that rotating the white connector 90 degrees counterclockwise might help also.

Dielectric grease should do. Don't overdo it. Theoretically, water shouldn't hurt much, but it sure can make the ECM act wonky.

There's an aviation version in a spray can that's hardcore and works every time, and dries up. But it's $80 a spray can.

I saw a weird message last week on the DIC. I don't remember what it said. I ended up re-starting the truck and it was gone. After reading this thread this morning I crawled under there and found pieces of grass all around those two connectors. Last week I bought some sod for my house and had to wash the bed out afterward. The water/sod drained straight into those connectors it turned out. I have to figure out a way to waterproof these or I'm going to have problems to.

These connectors are going to make for some interesting stories at the boat ramp.
