I put some black Gorilla tape on all four of my doors last weekend and it worked as well. I was not getting much noise before but now it is completely quiet. Simple fix and when the tape wears out I will put more on.
Glad to know the tape method has helped alot of people out. Still on the original wrap from nov '17 on my truck and still silent. I'm interested if the striker from the f150s the Ford tech mentioned works also.

I'm also hoping this striker works. I think the rubber ring would not only eliminate minor squeaking but should help with the louder banging when driving rough back roads.

So I'm a ford tech, this noise occurs on my truck as well on all for doors. I would describe as more of a sudden "pop" or "click" from the B and C pillars. I've done as much adjusting as possible per the workshop manual.(btw repairs like this dont pay much, its kind of a @$$ fu##ing from ford when we have issues like this) but being my own personal truck I've played with the issue alot. Never been able to get it to go away. I've done EVERYTHING BY THE BOOK. Until last night, when i broke down and actually got on a forum to see if anyone had found a solution I tried this tape trick, but I only did it on the drivers door to be able to confirm this repair. I no longer heard it from my drivers door, but still from my other doors. Unfortunately this wouldn't be an "official repair" or something you could have "covered". I however have dug deeper and found this latch 9L3Z-1522008-A which has a rubber grommet on it. It was part of an old TSB for older F-150s. But I believe Ford has NOT changed their striker design in the F-series trucks since 1995. However this part number doesn't apply to these trucks, so for the time this is not something that could be done under warranty. just thought I'd post my experience with this issue from an actual tech perspective. I may order one or two of these strikers, but at this time I'm just gonna roll with this tape trick
So I ordered a couple of these strikers and unfortunately I don't think they fit. The mounting holes are not the same distance apart from each other compared to the ones on the truck. See pics attached. The first picture is the stock striker, you'll notice that the mounting holes on the stock part are farther apart than on the replacement striker.

Does the rubber bumper slide off ? Is it possible you can simply pop the rubber on the SD striker?
* Nevermind, I saw a close up pic, the rubber is encapsulating the striker, plus the striker bar looks to be rectangular and beefier than the SD striker.
I have one other thing I will try and see if it works. I believe the 99-16 SD striker has the same mounting dimensions, but uses a thicker striker bar. I'll compare dimensions and possibly order one to see if it fits.
so I will start another thread on this but I now have a click in the lower door hinge. It seems the bracket on the door which most likely has a reinforcement with it is now clicking every time i open or close. if I push hard on the door side below the hinge it dampens it. have it on both sides. Not sure if it is cold welds because i checked the rears and no sign of welds either.
i had the same problem on my 2017 f350. Cleaned and lubricated door seals and found that wasnt the problem. I did discover the issue today. On your door where latching mechanism is you can see a rubber liner, lube it and problem gone. I used 3 in 1 silicon lube
Just joined the noisy drivers door club , any updates or tsb’s from Ford for a permanent fix yet ? Tried 303 weatherstrip treatment with no luck , now I’ll try the tape trick I guess .

Fiber electrical tape on striker seemed to have quieted the loose moral harmonics down a bit , but geeze ........these door issues are ridiculous for a modern 2018 Super Duty that retailes for $72,000 ....
I noticed my seat belt rubbing my seat gives me the sqeak. Crazy. Will have to put on some sort of felt or something on the belt. Next time you hear a sqeak in that area, pull your belt loose across your lap and away from your seat bottom.....
I think the problem is in the lower hinge, at least on the front door. I get the rattle even when the door is open and you can hear it when you move the door. I've sprayed some lube, but no help. It appears to be a clearance issue in the hinge/pin assembly, which is why the electrical tape is helping. Not by softening the striker, but by raising the door slightly and tightening the hinge/pin connection. I also noticed that it follows temperature changes.
I had a 2015 F150prior to this F250 and I never heard this rattle/squeak. Seems Ford changed something.
Mine started rattling bad again while on holidays in September. It only did it in the morning when temps were just below freezing and for some reason would stop when it got a little warmer out. On mine it is coming from the top hinge area of the drivers door.

I have a rattle not a squeak directly from the center of the passenger front door behind the handle...crazy annoying over pitted roads. And as soon as you pull very slightly on the handle, it goes away. So I'm thinking cable housing.
Here's what I found and it seems reasonable albeit this is a 2015 f150.
I believe I fixed my rattle using the link above. I could only use one piece of felt tape on either side, square piece on one side triangle on the other...depends on how thick felt tape you are using.
It's not the seals, not the hinges; doesn't need another dousing of silicone either...
It's the door latch and striker. The striker has a super thin layer of plastic coating that wears quickly. The door latch has plastic coating the steel pawl.
Plastic on plastic equals squeaks over bumps, even minute movements will squeak.
Adjusting the striker in will only cause door misalignment and accelerated wear on latch.
Adding stiffer weather stripping will only make door harder to close and accelerate wear on latch.
My solution costs about 1 cent and 30 seconds. Clean the striker with alcohol. Get 3M cloth gaffers tape (or similar) and wrap 1-2 layers of it around striker. Make sure the tape has full adhesion and no ripples. It is best you leave the tape seam toward the outside.
Close door to check function, it should close just like the factory intended it to.
The squeaks should be gone. The fiber in the tape should last for a few months before replacement.
THANK YOU DSLTRK60!!
I have a 2018 F-150 Crew Cab XLT and was having the same issue. It sounded like rubber "squeaking" over bumps. I tried the RV rubber seal treatment on the weather stripping, which helped a tiny bit, but it was still there. I was afraid of making things worse by messing with the latch and hinges, and then I found your post about putting some tape on the striker.
All I had was Gorilla Tape, so I cleaned the striker with alcohol and put three revolutions of Gorilla Tape around the striker where the latch meets it. I just got back from driving over all the bumps in my neighborhood that always made it squeak....and it IS SILENT!! A few cents' worth of Gorilla Tape and 2 minutes was all it took!
Door closes perfectly without any extra effort, is solid, and now it is quiet!
