Hi There
I have been playing with my Egr system for about 2 months now and I am still geting egr system fail codes P0400.
I have changed the egr valve, evr, and the dpfe sensor including new vacumm lines to no avail. The check engine light keeps coming on. I have talked to the fellas at the dealership and they do not know what is keeping the light on Any thoughts on this? It is a 97 mazda 4ltr 6cyl 5spd 2wheel drive
Thanks Dave
I got the pipe changed today and the code reset and pulling in the driveway the lights back on. Will get the code checked tomorrow. One of the guys at work was saying that the neutral safety switch is tied into the system some where. Mine is broken. Has anyone ever heard of this before? The switch is on the top right shifter rail on a mazda 5sp trany. It is right across from the back up light switch.
Thanks Dave
Mike W., I have been browsing the threads and noticed in your reply that your EGR problem had all the same symptoms as my 1995, 3.0 L Ranger has. I have had all the associated parts with the EGR checked by Auto Zone and they were okay. But after sustained driving the P0401 code comes back on. Has replacing the DPFE part permanently fixed your P0401 problem? I was thinking of replacing the DPFE and your posted reply gives me more assurance to do so.
