Newbie here, i have a 97 xlt which failed emissions, OBD CODES were p1443 and po401. also the scanner says the the o2 sensors are not responding??? i just changed them friday?? any thoughts??

P0401 is usually DPFE sensor. P1443 EVAP Control System Canister Purge Valve (Mechanical) Malfunction. DPFE is common failure in Rangers and can cause other codes to be thrown. Get the part and do the work yourself. It isn't hard and you'll save a ton of money. See the sticky titled "Technical Information" at the top of this forum. Lots of information on the topic.
