Half my family has worked there at one time or another, and I spent a good portion of my life in Bath. It's something to walk across the bridge and take in the shipyard and river.

I went to college in ME and pass through Bath all the time going to my brother's in St George. ME is the best

You call it wildfire devastation but in reality the plant life will grow back thicker and stronger. A lot of the live trees survive because they are full of water. They will bud and keep growing. Go to Rapid City, SD. They have cookies cut from trees that started growing in the 1500s and were cut down in the 1880s. They have several fire rings inside them throughout their life.
Wildfires bring new life and get rid of the trees that should have been logged by man because they were dead.
Bio Char is an amazing thing to bury in your garden. Once the plants roots hit the bio char layer they will explode.
