The last picture looks great! Where is that Scott?
Dallas Divide on Hwy 62 between Ridgway and Telluride. I drove the loop; Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Ridgway, Telluride, then home. Sorry about the bugs, but that is "through the windshield".
I did the Heli mod to the 350. Add an instrument cluster and change a fuse and the damn thing flies. Lol.
The pilot will usually circle the drop area a couple times to scare off any bears before he drops me off. Lol All for work purposes.
Scare them off or **** them off? My luck would be the latter. Surely they don't drop you off down there by yourself and/or unarmed. Even your PM should recognize the need for a shootin' iron in those circumstances.

He will drop me off at remote lease sites. I have bear spray and two machetes. I’m usually left at a lease alone for about 4hrs and there’s a tin building on site that I can always hunker down in and fight off a bear if need be. I’m not allowed to take a firearm in the heli but can carry a shotgun if I’m working out of the truck. Hopefully the pilot circles to scare them off. We haven’t talked about it before. Haha
The technology now is amazing. I started flying 40 years ago, didn't even have headsets. Now that we are in the age of GPS, if you hand a chart to some pilots, you get this blank stare. Sad. When I give check rides, one thing they can count on is everything going dark; fly the damn airplane!

I applied to the AF to be a fighter pilot and after 3 days of exhausting tests asking every question you could imagine, like "who was the first man to orbit the earth?" I passed with top marks, but the physical killed me, my right eye did not have good enough depth perception so I got cut.

Same issue with me, eye sight. Back then, anything less than perfect was unacceptable; even for the airlines. They are a lot more lenient now.
