I would definitely try the original bulbs as a troubleshooting measure, but I wouldn't give up on the LEDs just yet.
To make sure I am getting an accurate picture, if the park lights and/or headlights are on, the turn signals work correctly, otherwise all 4 turn signals (front and rear) flash? What happens when the brake lights are activated? So they work correctly both with and without the headlights/park lights turned on?
the front blinkers work fine (as of now) (minus the LED bulb rattling around in my passenger side housing.... which is another story in itself). I am not going to change them out to LED.
The issue is only in the rear. The "four" lights I am referring to are the top and bottom on each side ( each side has three bulbs). I have not tried to apply brake with lights off and on since I am normally working on it by myself.
I will try that tonight. I am going to pull the LEDs out of the rear and put the factory bulbs back in and see what happens.
Messed around with them last night. Could not get the "double blinking" to quit with LEDs installed and lights off. I put the factory bulbs back in until I can do some more research and find out why this is happening.
I tried, and tried, and tried to get the front drivers side out.... and no luck.... and now my dang hand hurts.
I am at the point where I will HAVE to pull the light housings out. I know how to do it, but the "bright young go getter" engineer at FORD has made this dang near impossible. I will probably have to drop the bumper a little just to get to the side bolt, as I have tried just about everything else.... i have a buddy lending me a ratchet box end to see if I can get them out. My fear is not getting them out, but getting them back in.... that will be the true test.
I finally got my stock headlight bulbs loose. They just seem to be "stuck," like the sals had something on them that set up after they were installed. I was able to wiggle 2 of them enough to break them loose, even though there was no discernible movement when I was wiggling them. I was able to get channel locks on the other 2. It only took a very light touch to break them free.
I got the LEDs installed last night. I disabled the DRLs (without "experimenting" with them) and everything seems normal. I'm not satisfied with the beam pattern yet, but my driveway is short and slopes a lot, so I'm going to have to find a parking lot with a nice wall that I can use for a while during the evening to fine tune things.
I installed LEDs yesterday and did not disable the DRLs and everything worked fine. I took a drive last night and Im very satisfied with the light output. I'm waiting on the LEDs fog lights to arrive. I did have a problem with the switchback LEDs and couldn't resolve the problem with Forscan. Vanquish is sending a different type of switchback which should resolve the problem. Tech support has been outstanding from Vanquish.
I already had switchback LEDs, but I installed them at the same time as the headlights. I love the way it looks. I hope they figure out how to use th park lights for DRLs soon.
Thanks for the updates. May seem like people arent reading but I am looking for any and all feedback before jumping in.
From what I can tell, there isnt really a good solution yet.
There is no one, there are actually two great solutions for your headlights. If you want to go brightest then do hid and please lower the headlights down a little. Option two is the led kit which is really good too and you can adjust the beam pattern.
Please let me know your questions and I will ask some of the members to post here to help you with the feedback.
I've gotten responses from the tester group that the lights work great and that they are very happy with the results. Yet to see someone that wasn't happy so that's good news. Also no issues with the drls and we are trying to figure out which trim or trims could be the one needing the cancellers.
I found some nice LED headlights and fog lights on superbrightleds.com for $250 shipped for all 6 pieces. I could not find any reviews or information saying that they 100% fit our trucks. Ive been very happy with all my purchases from superbrightleds.com. They are 7200k in color so they wouldn't exactly match my LED light bars which are 6500k.
Since I was nervous they wouldn't fit I decided to follow the route hackenbush took and grab some Auxbeam's off Amazon. Ill have them in 2 days and if they don't fit or are not exactly what I want its a super easy return process and at that point I would take a chance on the other LEDs from super bright. The Amazon purchase for all 6 pieces was $120... so by far the cheapest. The lights I purchased are 650ok in color so they will match my LED light bars perfectly. The fog lights are CREE 9006

We are shipping them this week, could you text me when you can, thanks!
That is exactly what is happening and I hate when unsuspected buyers fall for these tricks. You can read on ebay now 27500 lumens! lol
Not only a bad led headlight will glare oncoming traffic, it's a major safety hazard, you get a beam just like a FLASHLIGHT which looks just like the high beams that is why buyers can't tell why their high beams suck. You get it?
The "all in one" headlights don't have a true beam pattern adjustment and no driver so it's a matter of driving enough to get them to overheat and cause even more problems.
Please do not pay $480 for led headlights, that is extremely expensive! Or just get them and I will send ours for free for you to compare, I promise we won't jump the price up when we beat them.
Well, I pulled the trigger and ordered these GTR Gen 3. I first installed the passenger side lights and the lower light flickers twice then goes out once the engine is running. When I install the drivers side lights the top one does not light but the lower passenger side now works. The connecters that attach to the factory connecter sucks and will not lock in place. What a mess and a huge dissapointment since they had such great reviews. For the amount of $ I dropped on these, they are being sent back and hopefully they will do the right thing and refund them.
What the heck is a Canbus, a canceller and what is drls?
Also, why is no one posting a report of the Auxbeam LED headlights on this forum.
I think I may just give up and stick with the hologen until someone comes out with something that actually works on these 17 SD's
Any thoughts or comments are welcome
Auxbeams get terrible reviews from the LED experts. Poor effective lumins and poor light pattern. I guess if you're on a budget they are the way to go but I really don't want to blind oncoming traffic. i don't mind paying a premium amount if there was a true plug and play quality built light that threw a good light pattern both on low and high beam and one that doesn't take getting into your trucks computer to change something. Is there such a thing on the market yet?
