Thanks for this update. This helped me install the SYNC2 3.10 update in my 2016 F-250 truck this afternoon without issue. The FordOwners site DID accept the XML file that had been created and stored in the SyncMyRide folder on the USB drive during the update process. It was not clear from the Ford site that the VIN specific file was in the folder versus the root directory of the USB drive. So I was able to record the update back to the Ford site.
I did have to re-establish the BlueTooth connection back to my phone after the update. To do that I deleted the prior "SYNC" device from my iPhone, turned BlueTooth off adn then back on, and then initiated the new sync from the truck. It connected without a problem.
Finally got it installed. I'll see this evening if it works.
I ended up chatting with Ford.
They told me the directions were wrong on the site
1) Don't use exFAT, use FAT32 instead
2) Don't download the zip file to the USB. Open the zip and transfer only the inside files
3) There are only three files, not four as shown
Thank you for posting this information. It helped me update my 2016 F-250 from SYNC2 3.08 to 3.10 this afternoon without an issue. And the Ford site DID allow me to post my update back to their site.

This worked!! I updated from 3.7.11 to 3.10
FAT32 USB, (not exFAT)
download the zip file to your desktop,
extract the zip to the USB drive,
put the USB stick in your truck's USB port and run it for 20-30 mins.
Easy!!
Sad that Ford can't put the proper instructions in its own on line guide...

Can you also shoot a photo of your actual Sync screen in the truck with the build number.
Can you post the contents of your autoinstall.lst
