Sync2 Update 3.10
Software version 3.1 on Sync 2 is just bug fixes for the existing installation. Bug fixes are an ongoing full time job on Sync 2, being a Microsoft product.
Thanks to tedi_k over on XDA for the files and permission to post.
Here is the link.
It will take between 20-30 minutes to install. Vehicle must be running.
Format a USB stick FAT32
unzip contents to blank stick.
should be a folder and autoinstall file. (These must be in the root of the drive)
During the install you will see update to v3.8, this is no biggie as the 3.8 installer was used. It installs v3.10
My impressions only, I feel the screen is more responsive.

Navigation and phone work fine in my Fusion. I have not tried the truck yet.
I just got the 3.8 files. Going to see if I call to back before trying truck.
And some may still be thinking this thread is about upgrading to SYNC3. IT NOT NOT ABOUT UPGRADING TO SYNC3.
To clarify what Keith/ZooDad is saying is the following...
He updated/loaded/changed his SYNC2 to version 3.10. This will allow him to later update to the latest version of SYNC2 which is version 3.8.
To find out what version of SYNC2 you have installed in your truck is to first run a Vehicle Health Report. Then go to Ford Owner site sign in or create an account to check your SYNC2 version
Ford Owner website
https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/sign-in.html
Then you can use this link to check you SYNC2 version
https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...e-history.html
SIDE NOTE, IF YOU HAVE A BLUETOOTH OR WIFI ADAPTER OR CTS2 OR TUNER IN THE OBDII PORT. IT MUST BE REMOVED PRIOR TO STARTING THE TRUCK TO INITIATE A VEHICLE HEALTH REPORT. Once the report is finished, you can plug in the OBDII adapter without shutting off the truck.

Larry, I'm not sure that is the case. I think this is just simply a V3.8 to V3.10 upgrade. Albeit a "side-load" or unofficial release. I am hesitant to do this until Ford releases it.
You are correct. It is a later version of the software.
v3.8 (Build 15128)
v3.10 (Build 16180)

Will wait and see why happens.
SOMETIMES OLD PAIRED DEVICES GET JUMBLED WITH SOFTWARE UP DATES
A fast, simple unpairing of the phone and then pairing the phone again will work, but sometimes you need the added steps elaborated below.
When you unpair a phone, your phone numbers, quick dial, and call history is deleted from the radio, so, during the pairing process be sure to import your phomne`s address book if you used it before (versus hand entering numbers/names). When driving, you can`t get to many of your listings in a large address book, but it is helpful in identifying ID of incoming calls.
The more elaborate umpairing process below may be needed.
Try deleting that paired phone within the radio's phone settings, leave settings screen (go to main page, radio or navigation) turn off vehicle and open the dolr ( the latter really turns off the radio), go into bluetooth settings on your phone ans delete Sync, Restart the phone, close the door of the truck, start up the truck, turn on radio, go into settings and pair the problem phone. Import its address book if you use it.

I will try that again in that sequence. The new update wiped everything out so I had to start from scratch. Still having drop problems. My wife's iPhone6 has the same "drop" issues when paired. She has no issue in her 2016 Explorer.
I still had a couple instances after re-pairing the iPhone 7 with Sync. It seems that since the latest iOS 11 beta update, sync isn’t flaking out like it was.
I am using a brand new USB drive and formatted with FAT32. Downloaded the file as directed on the SYNC website, and made sure the necessary files were in the root directory. Contacted SYNC support yesterday only to be told I would have to take it to a dealer to have it done.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what did you do to resolve the problem?
Thanks in advance, Jim
