We were comparing roof line and top of the bed. And doesn't the SRW trucks sit higher than DRW trucks?

Yes, the SRW typically did sit higher. However, apparently for 2017 they all use the same spring block, so maybe not anymore. The biggest difference is the dually runs shorter tires...but the difference in actual increased ground clearance between the dually size (31.5") and the 20" size (34") is only 1.25". Like I said, certainly comparing my outgoing 2016 SRW to my new 2017 DRW is not apples to apples...but they appear fairly similar in height.

Now I'm here at my work, to make sure I measure correctly. How does Ford measure the height? Is it in the front part of the cab, middle, or the back?

Here's mine and it's right at 83". These aren't very good measurements but you can tell a big difference in height between his and mine.

I know on my truck the measuring tape is slanted but it's pretty damn windy here in the dfw area.

So you're saying 2"?

It would truly need to be apples to apples. Same cab / bed / trim / 250v350, etc. How much tread is worn off the tires? How much air pressure? How much weight in that toolbox?

I think the Ford dimension guide is generally correct.

Tool box is empty, he has it to store stuff in when he goes in trips and his tires has 65psi and mine are 80 psi. And I'm saying there's 3" difference between the two trucks. I'm telling you there is no way there is only .5" difference.

I'm not going to question you. This weekend I might have opportunity to go to the dealership where I know they have 2016 and 2017 parked next to each other. It will be enlightening to see if my measurements are similar to yours.

I'm curious what it will measure also. To me any 11-16 super duty I pull up to or park next to you can tell my truck is taller and not by barely. And I could had sworn someone posted a 11-16 super duty with a 6" lift next to a '17 and they were almost the same height.

yea I saw that thread when he posted it. I'm having the same issue that my garage opening is 81" as well and I already try to put my truck in the garage and there was no way it would fit. Was really pissed when it wouldn't.

Well, he's saying he needs a inch - or in other words, 82". The book data states the height is 81.3". So seven tenths of an inch...not that much. Especially when you consider the fact that if the truck was literally 82" tall and you had an 82" opening, you'd still need more to not scrape.

I'm thinking my truck is close to 83" if not 83" dead on. I pulled my truck as far in as I could and right over the rear seats is when I stopped cause another inch forward it would had scraped. I probably still had another 8-10 inches to go till the whole cab would had been in the garage.
