hi, fuelpro have you installed the lights.I bought the lights and wiring harness for the lights from dealer.Looks like I need the extra large or longer length wire harness shown in the pic on ebay.I was wondering does the wiring harness run back up to the cab.what I trying to figure where does it all connect.I have only two cables that come down from the lights and switch . I'll have to order the the other cable, need a wiring diagram.
My truck had the LED bed lights when I bought it last weekend. In my opinion, the are positioned high enough and out of the way that if you actually use your truck for hauling gravel, mulch etc. like has been mentioned above, the will not be in the way at all.
I have not used mine at night yet other than in the garage and I think they are a nice little option to have.
I too just bought a 2019 F250 6.7L XLT, and was wanting to install the LED bed lights. I found this video on YT that deals with the F150. I think it would be helpful on how to install the wire harnesses if you get the kit. This is one of the 4 mods I intend to do. Here they are
Replace the XLT steering wheel with leather wrapped
B&W Turnover Ball gooseneck trailer hitch
Tailgate dampening shock
Repalce the valance with the F150
LED cargo bed lighting
I'm going to order the kit for the F150 and see how it goes. Since I'm not looking to turn on the lights from the cab, but only the bed, I think it might work. If you find a part number for the Super Duty please post it here.
Here's the part number for F150 kit: JL3Z-13E754-A
BTW, the Dealership was NO HELP in finding any of these parts. As an aside, I found the 6" running boards from another SD owner, that took his off and installed the power running boards. Thing was, he kept the bolts to install the new boards. When I spoke with a parts guy from the dealership, I was told that I had to buy the complete running boards, as he couldn't find the bolts to mount the running boards!! Found that part number to, BTW: W706840-S440

Can the box lighting be installed easily? Is any of it pre-wired? I'm assuming that this isn't easy or cheap but want to confirm.
Tomorrow my truck goes to Line-x and I'm wondering if he should just spray over the plastic covers where the lights would go or not.
I would think that it’s easy to install since the OEM bed lighting is offered as a do it yourself kit on the Ford Accessories website or from a dealer.
The kit is not expensive at all.
If I were you, I’d just have the LineX guys tape over the spot so you won’t have to damage/cut the LineX when or if you decide to install the OEM lighting.
I have installed the factory lights and I like them, got the numbers from the thread posted above. I think they are plenty bright. Requires 3 harnesses, a switch, & 2 lights. Cost me about $165. Also has to be activated with Forscan. Be aware as it probably says in the threads there is a difference whether you have LED tail lights or not. Mine does not so the harnesses mentioned were right for my truck.
