I'm interested as well. The dealer said it isn't that bad to install but didn't know if any of it was pre-wired. I am guessing probably not. The days are getting scarce where companies wire every vehicle the same and then just install what the customer wanted and can upgrade later. Now they just wire what needs to be wired.
I wanted to do the same thing, but thought I read on here that someone posted the Factory bed lighting wasn't that great... Maybe I'm wrong.. I checked with the dealer and they were no help on parts list or cost questions.

I heard the same but i saw some aftermarket lights that would replace the lighting assembly just not the wires. I need to crawl under and see if the wires are there. I doubt it from all of the other threads. I want it to for the switch to turn the lights on and off from the bed instead of the cab. That would be convenient.
A bit off topic and probably a stupid question, but how would you guys protect the LED light cover when loading something sharp or abrasive, such as gravel, into the bed?
To answer the original question... yes the factory bed LED's are a simple plug-in. There is an existing connector under the bed. Just drop the wiring through the holes, pop in the lights and switch, and connect under the truck. Done.
I too thought Ford would put all the harnesses in because it would be easier then to have multiple skews for different trucks.
Was told by a Ford tech yesterday that years ago that's how it was done, but now harnesses are VIN specific... if you didn't order it, it's not there.
