it is an extra paid day off I can use later. We call it a delayed holiday. Other places callit a comp day. For me it lets me bank the holiday and use it up to a year ( calendar year) later. I have been able to take a 3 week vacation from work and only use 1 weeks worth of vacation time. The remaining 2 weeks was all delayed holidays. I figured out between all of my sick time vacation time ( if I allowed it to max out) personal days, floating holiday ( an extra paid day off during the summer only) and delayed holidays I could theoretically take 6 months and 7 weeks off straight and have it all be paid time off if I needed.

To bad about the flu Grant, luckily I've been anti social enough this month to avoid the flu. Lol. Just put the bird in the oven, in an hour I'll turn it down to 275 and slow roast it, it's basically 17 pounds of sandwich and stewing meat.
