Good morning Steve, Grant, John, Perry, Shaun and all who lurk here on another chilly morning.
What's wrong with his leg Steve?
How's your morning going so far John?
We've had a few dusting of snow Grant, it began last month.
Good morning again John.. what is on you plate today??
I started cleaning under the panel yesterday but it's not all the great of a job, not sure I'll do much more under there until the spring when I can jack it up outside and use the pressure washer..
No it's just the ground up asphalt from the road construction we had to travel over the last couple years to get out of town. I should have done it this summer but got to changing out the front cross member and ran out of time..
I went into the shop today and it was a bit on the chilly side so I put my jobs off until tomorrow when it warms up again. I still need to hook up some more lights and panel in the areas that I opened up for the electrical work. Need to drop in on a customer and give her a siding estimate and pick up my 6' ladder as I'm tired of standing on moving objects and stretching up to the ceiling to work, my insurance may not cover being silly.
I don't have any big plans for this winter, just do a few things on my 53 and hope to have it on the road by late spring. It won`t be pretty but if it drives and stops I`ll be a happy camper.
It was chilly here today too, no sign of any warm up till mid next wk.A couple of yrs ago I picked up a 3 step mini ladder, I don't like climbing up on rolling objects either.
Among some of the things that still need doing is wiring the gas gauge, tail lights and dash gauges, put the front fenders on then find a satin black paint to spray the truck with. Tomorrow I`m going to a body shop supply place to find something to replace the original cork gasket between the grill and the air deflectors, something that stays soft and won`t crack. Did the 56 Ford trucks, panels have anything like that John?
All I've seen has some kind of putty. What I did to mine was after it was put together was run a bead of seam sealer on the underside to keep the dust and water from getting in between the panels..it stays soft and can be peeled off if you take the parts off later..
