Our spring was very wet this year as well Steve. prior to our monsoon season here in the last 2 weeks we were still up about 3 inches of rain from May and June. have fun Steve.
Our classes dont start until September 4th. Students come back August 30th to September 2nd. Students on fall and winter sports teams will be back in the next week or two so they can start practices. The one elevator that is being worked on has been out of service since the end of April. They completely replaced the elevator. Had a crane out to lift the old elevator car out of the shaft and then lift the new one into the shaft from the roof. Also new motors, cables, pretty much everything. The other 2 they replaced the control boards and upgraded the electronics that control the elevator cars. Next summer is not going to be alot of fun at all on campus because of the amount of work that will be happening.
They will be starting a building addition next summer. It will also take out a parking lot. And then in the next 3-4 years we will have a massive building renovation of one of our dorms start as well. That is still in the engineering phase right now. And will take an easy 4-6 years to complete since it has to be done over the summer.
It happens. We run out of space pretty quickly. The renovations to our one dorm is more just modernizing the building then adding space to it. New HVAC, electric, plumbing, Sprinkler system updated and replaced. pretty much all of the mechanical systems in the building. will be replaced. That doesnt count alot of the other stuff that still has to be done around campus for one of our systems. They will be starting with the oldest parts of that being first. But it is costly to do those upgrades.
Our local campus rents property long term to developers for building malls, hotels instead of selling it out right. Guess that renting brings in a lot more money then selling.
I bet it is Morris. One of the issues we have is we are rather landlocked in terms of being a university. We have 99 acres of land we sit on in a city. And communities on all sides of us. so it is harder for us to grow out. We usually have to grow up.
Afternoon y'all.. back from the grocery and finally had breakfast.. got all the stuff for Roulade on Wednesday.. oh my laundry is done for a few days..
