Yeah the steel mill was 4 miles of production facilities. The old GM plant was in the ball park of 3 million square feet. The steel mill also had its own shipyard which is still being used. So we had alot of industry over all in my area.
It`s not real big but pretty decent for a farm toy show, takes about an hr to see most of it. Unfortunately the interest has really dropped off for it in the last 5-10 yr. It`s still nice to browse but that`s about it for me, my basement is full of 1/18 die cast Fords. I have well over 250 of them.
I wish this one was affordable, I'm into it for $500 and a radiator but I have a partner in crime that's 1200 into it. I get the metal and he gets the drive train. Its a lot easier to reshape metal than to start from scratch with a sheet of metal on a wheel or lead bag.
Its a 4 door rust bucket with a shot interior, the only thing good about it is the drivetrain. I have a buddy that has a 53 2 door that his wife drives and he might want some of the trim pieces. I needed contour metal and the type of metal that gives me design options for the Overland. I'm planning on working out of my place so it would be nice to have a piece of metal work to draw in work.
It doesn`t look too bad from the pictures but vehicles always look better in pictures than what they actually are. The interior alone would be mega bucks to have re-done, I had a nicely running 53 Monarch with a bad interior that I resold, between body work and the interior it wasn`t worth the cost to restore. I love that dash, my brother`s 53 Ford 4 dr is the first car I ever drove. A few decent driving 53-54 Ford cars used to show up for sale around here but I was always a day late.
I was looking at a couple of these today but these are full case units and I want an open case so that people can see what the inside of a motor looks like.
Got this on the radar, its advertised in Calgary but its located in Saskatoon. Need to get my shop budget worked out and then look at my options, I may be coming up to visit you if I can't get it shipped.
