Yep, moving forward the Remote Access module will be discontinued.
Dealerships can still get them as there's remaining inventory around the country. Just no new units will be manufactured and once the inventory is gone they are done.
Sooooo, you're saying is we should get a spare before they run out....
(I'm kind of a hoarder like that...)
I have a 2015 F150 XLT Sport and want to get remote access installed. First dealer I talked to told me that it wasn't possible with my truck - that'd I'd need "Sync Connect" which was only available on 2018 models. (Obviously I'd seen this thread and knew that they had no idea what they were talking about )
Talked to another dealer and they quoted me over $800 for the install, and said that they'd have to install an additional module with an additional remote in order for it to work correctly ??????
Thinking I just need to order the parts and install myself. I have factory remote start, so all I need are the security module, and the actual remote access module, correct?
I don't need the Remote Start Antenna Upgrade kit that is mentioned on page 12 of these instructions, do I?
Also, what is a good dealer to contact on the phone to get everything activated once installed? The ones around my area seem to have no idea what they're talking about
I had the remote start from key fob. A call to Bobby at Banner Ford and he sent me the VSS and RMU and now it works from my phone. It was $275 shipped and $49 a year for service

I bought all the stuff for my 2016 from Banner and Bobby was great to work with. Wish I'd kept that stuff, didn't think it'd work on a 2017.
I emailed Banner today (Thanksgiving Day) to find out exactly what I need for the application I want to perform. An actual person replied about 2 minutes later saying that she'd relay the information.
On the 2016 I know that it needed the under hood switch (which it already had). Not sure about all of the exact parts I need for the 2017, so I'll talk to Bobby when they reopen.
I remember the VSS and the RMU. I also did an antenna upgrade that I don't think I really needed. I bought some used fobs from a member here (Pocket, maybe?). This time I think I'd skip the fob and just use the phone.

All I needed was the 2 modules and a harness that goes in the back of the obd2. Bobby sent everything I needed for the install including the zip ties
I know you can buy a led and other stuff but I just wanted the remote start

In this day & age I'm probably as likely to have my phone on me as my truck keys, so that's why I'm thinking of going without fobs.
But the bi directionals with good range and LED indicator can be had relatively cheap from ebay and other sources. In fact, the ones that I bought from a fellow poster on this forum were originally Subaru. Of course I had to cover that with little Ford emblems.
Excellent info Curtis. I plan on adding the remote access option and it is nice to know I wont have to go to the dealer. I may be back to this thread for more advice when I get my truck.
I have 2017 crew cab with remote start wanted to add keypad from Lariat dealer ordered and said not compatible because it's a remote start however I was told that this could be done through forscan please advise

Use FORScan and enable the setting below in the BdyCM As-Built module.

I've contacted Banner via email and received only a canned reply and another reply from someone in their used car department trying to sell me a vehicle.
My first experience with Banner was good. Now I get no answer from anyone.
I'll email Fairway Ford in Ohio about getting the parts. They were good to work with when I bought Ford mud flaps for the new truck.
2017 F150 Remote Access & Perimeter Plus (shock sensor)
After the dealership I purchased my new truck from was completely wrong about Ford Pass and then finding out I did not have the modem and that for 2017 vehicles it was only offered as a factory install on some Ford vehicles and not for mine, I started looking into alternate options.
I heard good things on the forums about Bobby at Banner, so I contacted him on eBay for information on what was required for remote access for my 2017 F150 XLT. I currently have the basic perimeter alarm that goes off if you open the doors and I also have factory remote start with the original flip out keyfob.
Bobby recommended the kit that has:
-DL3Z-19A390-B RMU KIT
-FT4Z-19A361-A Base Security Kit (Perimeter Plus)
Bobby noted this would add the shock sensor and remote access which with the $50 yearly subscription will allow me to access start, stop, lock, unlock and alarm triggers remotely using the web or phone app. He will complete the activation for remote access once I have it all installed and working.
Just purchased from him via eBay before the holiday.
Will advise more once received, installed and activated.

Usually close to $600 for the 2 modules on Ford Parts Site or a little less on others Like Tasca bit was able to Find it on eBay new for a little less than $300 from Fairway Ford. After activation I tried the remote lock and remote start features using my Samsung S7 Active phone without the key inside or near the truck. It gives you the option of pressing the start button inside the truck to drive it and I was surprised that you could in fact press the start button and drive it without the key present.
Received the notification from Banner on eBay that the kit shipped today and FEDEX number provided.
