One in nearly 2 years of having it. All other alerts have been when the alarm was triggered, almost all of them my wife doing something around the truck and setting it off.
You can set up the app to alert you if the alarm is triggered. I have mine set to send a text message to my phone, and it will tell me if it was the shock sensor triggered or a door opened. Usually I get the text in about 5 seconds after the alarm starts going crazy, so it's pretty quick.
Another feature is that when you click the remote start button, you'll see a countdown timer. If you hit the button again, it will double your run time. Something you can't do with the key remote start or with the long range fobs, as you have to wait for the truck to run through the full time before you can remote start again. This is good for those who want to extend the run time of the factory remote start to go for as long as 30 minutes (instead of the factory maximum 15 minutes).
In reply to your bottom statement, you actually can do that with the key fob. See page 60 of the owners manual. Bottom paragraph.
Is it possible to have Remote Access without Remote start? I have been reading this and other threads about remote access and it is still not clear. I leave my truck in some remote parking lots while fishing and would appreciate a text if someone is breaking in.
I just read this press release from Ford that an OBDII plug-in call SmartLink this summer will enable remote access with a 4G plan on a Verizon network...
Previously, on the Ford website, it said the remote access module required the enhanced security module. Now, when I look at the Ford accessory website, the part number for the remote access module has changed and it no longer says another module is required. The according to the info in this thread, the remote access module had to be plugged into the enhanced security module. Can anyone confirm if the new remote access module has a different plug that allows it to connect to the truck without the enhanced security module?

Nothing has changed for the 2011-2017 trucks. The Ford website is notoriously inaccurate.
Are these the correct new part numbers for this system? I contacted the Dealer listed in the ebay link at the beginning of this tread and they don't sell those part numbers anymore.

Remote Access: RS-RemAccess-C
Enhanced Security: FT4Z-19A361-A
For a 17 Super Duty or 15-17 F-150, here's the part numbers to get Remote Access:
FT4Z-19A361-A
DL3Z-19A390-B
Technically these will work for the 18's, however Ford won't warranty if there's a problem. New VSS modules and remote start systems have been released for all the 18 MY Fords. Remote Access will not be a part of the new systems moving forward. Those currently with Remote Access will still retain functionality since it's a 3rd party and not Ford that hosts the service.

It looks like the DL3Z-19A390-B is a discontinued part and the prices on ebay are pretty steep. Is there a new part number?
**EDIT** I found the parts from a Ford Dealer that had them in stock

Yep, moving forward the Remote Access module will be discontinued.
Dealerships can still get them as there's remaining inventory around the country. Just no new units will be manufactured and once the inventory is gone they are done.
