onstar phone app on my gmc was great for this.

You can, that's the purpose (or one of them) of the app and the accessory itself. It has a cellular system so can be used anywhere it can get a cellular signal. The system does go to "sleep" after 72 hours but can be woken up with a preset alarm that you set for a specific date and time. For example: park at an airport lot for a week and set it to wake up the day you're coming back. Then remote start to warm up and defrost for your arrival. A little overkill but nice for tech geeks.

Is there a web page version of the app? I don't take my phone into work but would like to remote start before I leave my desk.

Thinking I'm going to have to order. Wish they had just built in Sync Connect, or even had it available as an addon, but oh well. Remote Start from long distance is the only think I really wanted anyways...

You can log into your account from any computer. Once in your account you can actually use the features the same features on your phone and start your truck.

Remote Access and Sync Connect are two completely different things. They use entirely different hardware and work on different networks and accounts.

Thank you, being able to remote start from a PC is what I'm looking for.

This would definitely come in handy in the city. After paying $75k for a truck, this is a small cost for piece of mind.

I have it on my '13 350 and just had it installed on a '13 Explorer I just picked up. I use it all the time. I really enjoy getting into a warm or cool vehicle depending on the season.

I got a Google Home for Christmas. I am going to see if I can program a IFTTT script that will allow me to tell my Google Home to start my truck

What is the website that you log into?

EDIT:
A quick google search and I found http://www.fordremoteaccess.com/en/

I also see that you use the Ford Remote Access app and not the new FordPass app. This was part of my confusion.

Here is an ebay listing from a dealer out of Mississippi selling both parts for $290 shipped. The listing states F150 but the 2 part numbers are the same.
