Turkey got put in the oven a half hour ago. If I get time I'm going to start splitting a motor and transmission apart. It's out of the truck so it should only take an hour plus tool find time.
I'm kind of wishing I had put and over drive transmission in this project instead of the C-6, not thinking my gas mileage is going to be all that great. Too bad I already had my driveshaft made..
New rear gear or a change to taller tires. This truck I just picked up has a set of tall skinny ground grips in back and it was hard to keep it under 100k on the hwy. No fuel economy in my trucks unless I leave them parked, $20 to start em, $20 to drive em to work and back.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Myself and others out this way have had a tough year (or two) recently, but there is still so much to be thankful for, it's too long to list. I'm thankful that even on my toughest days, we're still in the top 1% worldwide, and our problems and troubles don't really compare to those experiencing real poverty.
The family upstairs spent just over 3 years in a refugee camp in Lebanon and one day, "surprise" an Iraqi group that had memories of living in little Baghdad in Damascus drew their name. 6 weeks later the 3 of them were on a flight to Montreal and relayed on to Calgary. 2 weeks later they moved in upstairs, 7 weeks later he is working at Dynamec and 2 weeks later she's part time at a Starbucks. English classes 4 days a week for both of them. This family is cool, best tenants we've had upstairs since I moved in here June 09, they're thankful for the new life. These 2 were graphic artists and liberal democratic minded so they were of the first group of people run out of Syria by Assad.
Myself, the house got sold to a progressive Russian immigrant who thinks close enough to me that my life has become a lot less stressful. Out with the old BS, and life is starting to come around to what normal is supposed to be, finances are starting to straighten up. 7 years with the last home owner, the people he has around him pass on the curse of stupidity and it always trickles down sideways and affects people who shouldn't be affected. Now this house and it's owner has the same program going, getting ahead in life.
Could handle the 56 and the Galaxy but the GT would cost to much in speeding tickets. Can't see out of the mirrors on these small cars anymore so I'd have to drive it hard to make sure no ones coming up from behind.
I hear you about the GT and speeding tickets but I love driving it so I got to keep that in mind, there have been a few close calls but so far it`s all good.
The mirrors are actually quite good, certainly a lot better than the sorry excuses on the 69 Mach I I had.
I'm used to 1 and 5 ton trucks with big mirrors and they are actually very easy to drive. When friends offer me the keys to their small cars I chuckle and hand them back, reminding them that I'm an accident waiting to happen in small cars with small mirrors.lol
