Wow, I can't believe it's really August already. Mom always said life goes by faster as we get older. She was spot on on that one too.
Later this morning I'll get out to the body shop and see my baby for the last time before it goes off for auction.
I'm leaving with my tool box, almost new battery, it will end up with the battery that's in Ka'Bluey. Then get my Flowmaster out from underneath. I'm gonna call and see if the manager at the shop could have somebody cut the pipes and I'll just have to unbolt that muffler.
When I talked to the guy from the insurance company this last Friday, he didn't have a problem with me taking those things since the truck is a total loss.
Hope y'all have a safe week.
That's been brought up a few times. I really wouldn't mind having that in Ka'Bluey
Unk Bob
I have an engine hoist just a mile away from the 2011, if you decide you want to pull it. .. however, some seats might go missing as well.
Larry,
Glad to hear you had a good time and made it back safe and sound.
Cookie passed away this Saturday. I did everything I could to keep her just a little bit longer. As it was, she went peacefully. For that I am thankful. This last year has been tough on her.
Been back home a couple of hours. I made it out to the body shop to get some things out of the other truck. I did get my tool box, floor mats, new battery. Tomorrow I'm going back out with an electric saws all to cut the tail pipes from the muffler.
I price cordless saws today, and about had a heart attack. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, $100 & $200 cordless saws, that didn't even come with a battery, or charger! Are you serious
So tomorrow I'm going back out with my saws all, and a couple hundred feet of extension cord, and a few blades. I'm also snagging the speaker out of the doors. The back door speakers are shot in the truck we bought.
Josh, sorry about Cookie. I know she'll be missed.
I got a sneak peak at Bob's new ride tonight. Sweeeeeeeeet!!!!
Won't be long now, gonna be a pa! Can't wait. We did have a little scare today, but the Dr. assured us that everything is OK.
WOW! What a busy month is has been and this one is looking the same or worse. Then on top of that the AC knocked off here during the night. Thank God I know how to get it up and running.
I really hate that I missed the dinner last month. Just so much to get done in so little time. I feel like a one legged cat trying to cover up four litter boxes...lol.
We missed you too at dinner Marty. But everybody know's your busy right now, and we've all had things that had to be dealt with.
You're gonna be a good Grandpa.
I made it out to the body shop yesterday to get things out of the truck. I did get all of the factory floor mats out, my tool box, my 1 year old battery, then it came down to my Flowmaster that I just got.
The shop was busy and the manager couldn't pull somebody off of a paying job to cut pipes, and I do understand that.
So, I checked out hardware stores for a cordless saw's all. And that's as far as that went. The less expensive cordless saw I found was $99. Not a problem, but it also needs a $90 battery, and that battery needs a $70 charger, so I had my fit,and left empty handed. I did get out and seen Josh for a few minutes since I was literally blocks away from his house.
So this morning, I'm going back to the body shop with 100' of cord, and my saw. Never even thought about that yesterday.
Here's a few pictures of the damage to the truck that did total it out.
Good morning everyone, I think the cost of labor is the big deciding factor on when they total off a vehicle unless the built in safety structure is compromised which would be first and foremost.

For the most part it was totaled due to the integrity of the passenger compartment. And the work is warrantied for life. Then the dollar issue was a close second.
