The Highway 226A, I remember going up to Little Switzerland, was a really curvy road. Since Mary was with me and we were in the pickup, we didn't get to take it too fast or have too much fun with it. If you get Chance to have Lunch or dinner at the Inn though, the food was amazing, and I would eat there again, every chance I get.
Thanks, may have to give it a shot depending what time we pass it.
We also plan on checking out the Wheels through time museum.
Hopefully know something on the truck soon
I talked to the manager at the body shop today, after getting a routine email from them today.
He's been working with my insurance company finally. Sounds like he's explaining to our insurance that the truck is totaled. He is trying to get the insurance company to understand how bad condition it is in without even taking the truck apart.
So yes, basically it isn't worth taking apart to show the conidition, be will if they need to.
So, I'm still in the hurry up and wait mode.
Evening all. We are in the Asheville area doing some sight seeing right now. In Maggie Valley at the moment. Right near the Wheels Through Time museum actually. Could totally settle here, it's beautiful.
Bob, hopefully they get moving on your truck soon. Find yourself the three most expensive listings you can that are similar to yours. Close in miles and package. Just make them spendy!

Hey David, glad y'all are safe, and having a good time. That Asheville area is sweet.
I have a few different trucks picked out already. One sold over this last weekend, naturally. But I can't do anything until somebody at the insurance company pulls the plug out of someplace, if y'all know where I mean.
Went up to Spruce Pine and Little Switzerland last month. I just got back from a 650 mile weekend playing in the curves near West Jefferson last weekend. going to hit Asheville next month if everything works out. Man was it hot on the ride home on Sunday. Thinking about trailering the bikes next time. Our State sure has a lot to offer, and being in the middle of it sure has its advantages.Larry, hope the family enjoys the trip. If you need us holler.
Sounds like a sweet ride Willie, enjoy the time, and be safe
I'm planning on getting out of the house today. I'm going to hit a few dealers and see what kind of deals are out there. I really like the Crew Cab, and 4x2 is fine, and I like that 5.0, and haven't driven an Eco Boost, yet... A lot of the trucks that I'm finding on like a the V6, and not all are the Eco Boost.
I really want another 5.0, something I can put my Flowmaster stuff on, and at least keep that rumble that I got to have for just a few months.
Money wise, I can get a 2015 Crew cab, Eco Boost 2 and 4 wheel drive, for what I'm finding prices for on 2013, and 2014's. But need to do some comparing. I really expect to hear that the truck is totaled...
Y'all be safe, watch that heat today.
Well I did make it out to a local dealer this morning. I wanted to see what the leg room in the 2015 F150 with the Super/Extended cab looked like, thinking less truck, less money.
But, I'm sticking with the Crew Cab, if I can get told what I'm wanting to hear about my truck. Poor Rocky wouldn't even be able to turn around without a Crew Cab. Guess I'm picking out my dog's truck.
Larry Enjoy the mountain trip. Should be a lot of fun, wish I could get away this weekend to get some cooler mountain air.
David,
Enjoy Asheville, there's plenty of exploring to do up there!

Bob,
Sure is a lucky dog, getting a new truck
Did you get chance to test drive the Eco-Boost? Since it's coming to the end of the month, if the insurance company gives you the go ahead, you may get a pretty good deal, as the sales guys are trying to hit their quota.
Also, hit up the '15 plus forum as there is good information on what options are getting the best rebates and such. I think XLT's are still going for around 4500 under MSRP, and 15 trucks should be great deals, if you can find one still new. Mostly you'll probably see ones that were traded in with low miles and high price tags. Do you know what package you want (xl, xlt, lariat, etc.)
Ya'll have fun!

Hey Josh, I know what I want, well at least I think I do.
My next truck absolutely has to be a Crew Cab, and I'd rather have another 5.0 over the V6, Eco Boost..... or not. But,to answer your question, no...I haven't even driven the EcoBoost, and I also haven't heard from any friends (yourself included) that have had anything bad to say about that engine. It's just that I finally got my Flowmaster exhaust on my truck and had some good tunes at the rear bumper, and now that may be gone. Trim package wise, an XLT is the most I've ever had, so that is fine too. And miles wise, anything comparable to the year of the truck. So average miles, for the age of the truck.

We will be right there Tomorrow afternoon. Hoping to be there by about 12 if we leave the house by 5. We will be staying at the Motel 6 on Tunnel road, maybe our paths will cross at somepoint.

Thanks, and will do!
I thought about trailering just because of the heat, but I don't have a trailer, and we would have to take my pickup since the wife's car doesn't have a hitch. Not that I wouldnt trust it, but that's along ways at 16mpg instead of the 25 her car gets.
Larry Enjoy the mountain trip. Should be a lot of fun, wish I could get away this weekend to get some cooler mountain air.
Thanks! It will be our first vacation by ourself since our Honeymoon 3 years ago. We did take that little trip to Bristol on the bikes last May, but that was with 2 other couples.
I got the phone call that I've been waiting for. Our insurance company has finally made a decision about my truck. It is totaled, and I have put a hold on the next truck this morning so another one doesn't get away. https://img2.carmax.com/img/vehicles...f29d7b/800.jpg
