Also curious. Do you have a specific number in mind, as to what you're willing to part with, to get your '03 running?
Well, as I mentioned earlier $13,000 for a new motor with warranty is still being considered , but a good low milage doner truck with a 6 spd manual tranny would be preferred
Looks like a thing of beauty. The good old Ford Quality Repaint 6007 drop in assembly. I hope I'm not too late to the party to suggest that they install a new engine and FICM harness as well , to prevent future electrical gremlins from popping up. I have to imagine on a truck of that age and mileage they have to be pretty brittle by now. For a 2003 engine, the part numbers are 3C3Z-12B637-BA and 3C3Z-9D930-AA if your interested. I'm sure they will be willing to cut you a break on the cost of the parts since you're going in this deep already. You would also be making the installer's job easier too, installing new wires.

SWEET. And you are starting a fan club.
If the time ever comes I want one too.
Not sure about the fan club thing Sean, just thinking it would smell good for awhile with the paint on the exhaust manifolds, Y pipe, turbo etc. it looks like they even painted the plastic intake tube on the turbo inlet.
Looks like you're set for a while. That engine is beautiful. I'm also curious to see if the paint ends up burning off certain parts.
I've been reading this thread as it has progressed. This option may not be the cheapest, but the risk is eliminated for 2 years at least and the peace of mind is worth it in my opinion.
350km seems a bit low for mileage/kilometerage? Looks like you just weren't so lucky with your first engine. I'll bet you get 500km+ with good maintenance on the new one, if you keep it that long.
