Question about identifying engine year.
When looking at an engine 04~05 how can you tell what HPOP
pump it has?
Would it having an aluminum HPOP cover be a good indicator that
it has a later type pump?
Thanks for the help.

Yup. Aluminum would be late 04 and newer, cast Iron is mid 04 and earlier, except in the Excursions. They all had the early style.

Someone had told me that the late build Ex could
have a true 05 engine with the later style HPOP.
I know I can't go by ICP sensor location that is why
I was asking about cover type.
