Anyone have an idea what to do with this home made computer chair mat? When I had my settlement check, I bought a 5/8" thick piece of plywood that I had them cut to 4'x4' to use under my chair. I bought those 12" square vinyl tiles to cover it so it did not look like a piece of plywood, and so I did not get splinters in my feet should I go barefooted. Well, the constant moving of the chair on the vinyl has pretty much ruined some of the tiles, so much so, that parts of it are sticking up which becomes painful to step on, especially for the grand kids who go barefooted. I have turned it over so the plywood shows, but want to know if I should cover it in vinyl tiles, or just paint it a dark brown or something? If I do the tile thing again, I guess it will last another two years like the other side, but was thinking maybe painting it would be better. However, I don't know if the casters would eventually tear up the paint, and wood if it only had paint to protect it? I don't like the plastic chair mats they sell at office supply stores because they are too thin and I sink in them.
I had a wonderful Plexiglas chair mat years ago, but it broke when the safe fell on it during one of my many moves, and have not been able to find a replacement.
Why don't you see if you can get a single piece of laminate floor to cover the fresh side? Many/most of the laminate flooring these days has a bit of "give" to it, and it might last you several years.
Also I have supplied HFH several times in product that was out of remodels IE closet doors, shower doors, cabinets , I can't see giving a used toilet ( so those go to Boy Scouts ) for crush porcelain some how they profit from that witch is great.
Yes, a 4 foot square piece is all I need. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Well harder than you think, full roll lam is bought for cabinet countertops, try a cabinet shop, wait just a second I may have a full roll of laminate use to have three rolls , I'll have to check in the shop and see if I still have them, other wise PVC wainscot from the depot , then if you cought the edge it would bend and not snap
