March madness
Tom, great news about Hannah.
Kyle, getting back into the swing of thing is a good thing.
I installed the stabilizing system on the 5th wheel yesterday with my son. I am elated how well it works. I posted how the process went on Fifth Wheel & Gooseneck RV Towing sight under "I bought a Steadyfast system" Camera had lost its charge and was unable to post pictures. Going back out on weekend I will try to get pictures then.
Hannah was supposed to have a wheelchair fitting yesterday, so we drove all the way down to Roseville and waited around for over an hour. She never came, apparently they double booked. Trying again this morning, hope she shows up this time!
Another warm day out there. It looks like it's going to rain any minute, but the weather man said tonight.
Went to harbor freight yesterday and just needed some fuses for the RV spare supplies kit and spent probably an hour just walking around looking at stuff.
This morning when I went and started my car to go to work, it started but extremely rumbly for a second then I head some loud noise and it immediately shut off. Tried starting it again, wouldn't run, some bad sounding noises. I've gotta try and figure out what's wrong with it, maybe the timing belt snapped. I'm going to go pop the timing cover off right now and see.
I might try and get the oil pan off to have a look at the bottom end, I've gotta get the cat out of the way first to do that though. I hit the bolts for it with some liquid wrench.
I've only ever put plugs, filters, front brake pads & rotors, tires and a serpentine belt in to this car. I bought it for $1,700 back in june of 2013, I've definitely got well more than my money's worth out this car.

Good luck with the decision, Kyle.
Years ago I bought a Plymouth 6 cylinder in the 70's for $500 with 40,000 from a guy moving to the Cape and didn't want to take the car with him, and only thing I put in it was gas and add oil. Not one oil change, no filters, nothing. Put 125,000 miles on it and sold it to a kid for $75 and he put another 90,000 before the engine fell out.
It's Friday and that means the weekend is here. Think I will take the F250 to the car wash and wash the engine. Haven't done that since last year.
Hannah has been enjoying the power wheelchair. We have the trial unit for a week, and they're submitting everything for insurance to buy her one. Over $15,000 for one of these things, and they weigh about 300 lbs.
Our driveway is enough of an angle that she couldn't control her manual chair on it. Not an issue with this thing!
I'm surprised the motor let go as well. I was hearing noises as far back as about a year ago, it didn't sound like piston slap, or a knock, I couldn't feel any vibration in the car. It wouldn't make the noise when the engine was cold, only after you had driven it for a bit. I'd almost guess it was a wrist pin connecting the rod to the piston.
I think I'm going to pull the motor and either have it machined & rebuilt by a shop or buy a remanned one. I found a reman for under $1100 with free shipping online. If I could spend roughly a gran on the car and get another 2-5 years out of it, it would be worth it for sure.
Putting in the remanned or rebuilt engine would take care of things I wanted to do any way like the timing belt & water pump, and I could put a new clutch, slave & master cylinder in easily with the motor out.
