20,000 isn't cheap. I didn't realize that those chairs were that heavy. Does the military help out at all for the van?
Sometimes I think I should go back to work with the cost of things today. I don't know how a family does it these days. When I got out of the Navy my first wife was pregnant, and the Soldiers, Sailor, and Marine fund helped us out. And with no insurance that was a blessing.
By the way my stabilizing system made it here. So I won't have a shaky trailer in the Spring.
Well got to let the dog out in the Kennel for some exercise.

Nope. The Tricare ECHO program will pay for some things like that, but no vehicles or permanently installed equipment. They'd pay for one of these, but it would never work in the wintertime or during bad weather:

Very nice John. What kind of stabilizing system did you get? How does the new camper tow without it?
That's a serious cost for a van upfit. I wonder if they'd be able to do it with the awd components. I'm not familiar with what all is entailed in that kind of upgrade on a vehicle not specifically designed for it ahead of time.
I have found myself wishing that Ford would release more info on the 2017 super duty. And I'd like to start building it on their website as well.

We don't have the AWD Sienna anymore, we sold that a year-and-a-half ago. Karri now drives an Odyssey. They actually cut out the entire floor and lower it 10" and install a lift kit for clearance. That's why they look so goofy. There's quite a bit involved, and I'm fairly certain it's not possible to leave AWD intact for something like that.
On the way to the hospital today we stopped at a Ford dealer and test drove a bus.
Extremely impressed with the Transit, much more than we thought we would. I really thought Karri would hate it, but she thought it rode pretty well. That one's a year old, and with 30,000 miles can be had for under $25K. All we'd need is a wheelchair lift and some anchor points, which woulr probably be around $6K. We're cramped in the existing van, so we're thinking this may be the best option. We'll see though, nothing would happen for a month or two.

The cab for the '17+ Super Duty will be identical to the '15+ F150s, and all photos show the interior to be virtually identical as well. I believe features and option pricing should be similar between the two.
Whoops, missed that. Sorry, Tom. I'm pretty sure Brendon likes his transit, though he has probably forgotten all about it since the new truck showed up.
I'm mostly interested in power numbers and the transmission differences. I've seen a lot of people freaking out about the cab getting smaller. Obviously haven't been in a new 150 recently. Without the center console, you would be hard pressed to convince me that it is anything but cavernous inside. Plus, it's only getting slightly narrower, but longer at the same time.
Tom in answer to your question. The stabilizing system is to stop movement when you are parked. fifth wheel and travel trailers move when someone is getting in or just walking around in the RV. It stops the RV's movement when parked.
John I am right with you waited for spring. I took the boys fishing last weekend and I just installed a fish finder on the boat yesterday. I hope we can get out next weekend.
Spring is on the way out here as well, we're gonna see 60 degrees today. Highly unusual for early March, and it's gonna be like this all week.

Tom, just a thought. Kathy suggested that you have a friend setup a "Go fund me page" that states what going on with Hannah with picture and the fact your Army. And then share it on face book. and put a link on FTE. Just a suggestion.
She seems to be doing well, but she didn't sleep well last night. Waiting for neurosurgery and pulmonology to see her this morning to determine if she can come home this afternoon.

We've thought of that, but I really hate asking for money. Links to fundraisers like that on FTE are against the rules as well. We'll see what happens when we figure out which direction we're going to be taking. My shiny F150 may end up on the chopping block though.

I'd hate to see the F150 on the chopping block. We all have pride that gets in the way, but when it comes to the familia you do what has to be done. No one would smite you for that. Not preaching, your decision totally. I'm on your side any way you go.
I thought that if you just referenced it in the signature without comment it would not violate the rules.

Thanks John. We'll see, I think we're going to know a lot more in a few days.
Looks like we're gonna get out of here today. Hannah is doing great, she's been flying around her room and doing donuts in her chair.
I've been back at work this weekend, arm seems to be doing pretty well, I have been taking it really easily and using more of the left arm when I can. I was mixing a bit of mortar in a 5 gallon bucket today with a trowel for some new lead flashing and felt a quick little pain, promptly switched to the left! Other than that, I am pleased so far.
Our plans got screwed up, she's back in her bed on an IV again. Her incision had a lot of drainage, and there's concern that she's leaking CSF. Hopefully it resolves itself tonight and we can go home tomorrow.
