A little bird told me I should swing down here and say hi.

I can't respond to PM's for another week, but they still work in-bound.

New to fords - kinda. I've had one real one (mustang 2 with 302 swap) and one mazda (probe gt) in the past 25 years of owning vehicles (I've had a bunch). The 01 F350SD is my first real pickup truck. I've had various SUV's, but never a bed. Last year I bought a 1975 C65 189" WB with 27,5K GVWR, so that's technically my first real truck.

I'm in Fridley, but have some land up by Brainerd too.

In the past two weeks I've spent some time fixing the little stuff the PO didn't deal with on the Ford. Dash lights, door locks, headlights (converted to 05's), some other lights that were burnt out or just corroded. Over all she's a nice rig, just needed some TLC on the minutia. If I wake up in time to go get some oil and it's not raining, I'll do the oil change. Wally world has Motorcraft filters now, so that's nice. Should probably do the fuel filter too. Costco seems to have the best price on Delo 15w40, and now that I know that I'll go grab a case.

Anyways. Figured I'd stop by here and say hello. Hope everyone has a good weekend, and happy Easter.

Good morning Jim!

I see you found your way down here. Welcome! Nice to see you found your way back to a Ford. You should throw some pics up of your new ride. I would highly suggest getting 5w40 synthetic for your truck. It will be a much happier truck especially with starting in the winter. The 15w40 can make it tougher when starting especially when not plugged in. It will be more expensive but you can also go longer between oil changes. Might grab a fuel filter as well.

Ask any other questions you have as well. We will be glad to help where we can.

Good morning everyone!

Welcome Jim! Mobil has a promotion going on right now for their synthetic diesel oil:

https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mo...h-mobil-delvac

Can be as much as $12 off per gallon depending on what you buy, might be worth checking into.

Was looking at vans on Craigslist and stumbled upon this gem:

05 FORD E350 XLT- 15 PASSENGER / 6.0L POWERSTROKE TURBO DIESEL- A GEM!

My favorite part is the description of the 6.0L PSD under the hood:

Most of you already know, these Diesel Engines are "Bullet Proof" , Made to last a "Lifetime"...
We often see these vans w/ 400 - 600k miles & they are still kicking strong ! These Vans in
this condition are just bouncing babies with 140K ... ish Highway miles ! As far as the condition
of these vans that we are getting in; there is literally not a rip or tear in the blemish free Quality
upholstery ! Everything about these vans were made to withstand every Durability Test you can throw !

Spoke too soon. It was raining a little when I went to the garage earlier, now the sun is shining.
