It's thirsty Thursday already so enjoy a cold beverage and stay hydrated.
Jim T., aftermarket filter lid? Sometimes aftermarket isn't always better. Research to make sure it fits correctly. I know the 6.0 oil filter lid needs to be stock or oil bypasses filter. I don't remember what you are working on. Good luck!
Good morning Cory!
He is working on a 7.3 so he should be fine with the aftermarket lid on the fuel filter housing.
Well we're in the process of packing up. Luckily I am packing up a SxS that still drives... I came close to flipping it sideways off of a bluff with Dar and me inside. Left wheels were both a couple feet in the air and the trail was leaning to boot (climbing a rock waterfall trail).. I made a short video on YouTube. My buddie's wife was on a rough surface and was all over the place with my camera (phone)... Here you go...
My truck came with the "filter with lid" and I bought a replacement without lid not knowing that my lid wasn't the original at the time. So I don't have the OEM lid to go back to.
Delete it? Hahahaha
I was pleasantly surprised how clean it was in the bowl. The filter itself was pretty dark, but that's to be expected I guess.
The pan was originally sealed with grey silicone. The replacement filter has a rubber gasket. Do you use those or use grey silicone? Is the grey silicone a Ford specific source or just grey silicone from a parts store? I'm going to try the gasket but will probably end up doing another fluid change to reseal the pan
