That is usually within 3 posts of the OP. There are very few folks there who can look at the world objectively.

Hell, there are folks who are absolutely livid at Fiat for the recalls for bad welds and the dummies are looking at new Fiat trucks to replace their truck!

I've already done it...but why not try something different after an OEM lets you down with zero support? Its only money and all 3 OEMs have known issues that they ignore.

All true, but we are the Kool-Aid drinkers. Disregard the turd in your own punch-bowl.

Imo it's a real sad day when we are talking about a truck that is supposed to be 300 lbs lighter (insignificant) and is loaded with 4x the weight savings in techno garbage thus resulting in a net increase. Kinda reminds me about how the government cuts budgets.

I happen to agree.

I made the change to a Dodge when the 6.0l came out as the Dodge 5.9 was by far the more reliable out fit.

I returned back to Ford in '12 as Ford finally got their act back together on the 6.7.

If Ford doesn't change course with the '17 I won't be back with another Ford truck for long time or till my needs change.

It was my understanding from talking with someone at Ford, that the fully boxed frame added substantial weight along with suspension improvements...
That would reduce the weight savings from the use of Aluminum substantially.
Also - it was not clear if that 300# savings was on the Crewcab, SuperCab or Regular cab.

Wish list --

HEADLIGHTS are the biggest thing I can think of. Why does the best truck mfgr have the worst road lighting?

Seletable tune - This is a pipe dream, but it would sure be nice if we could dial back that 440 HP to maybe 300 HP when not towing. That alone could increase fuel economy..

ECO-BOOSTED 6.2 --- They'd sell a ton of them if the option was say 1/2 that of the diesel... Another pipe dream of mine.

Cruise Control off the steering wheel... Ford should embrace a standard across all their vehicles. Also a digital speed representation of what speed the CC is set for. Heck my wife's 19k Focus has all this...

Diesel Supplemental Cabin Heat - should come standard with the diesel engine option.

Side-step for the truck bed - AMP has a really nice product with BedStep (I have one on the back of my truck) ... Ford should license this or do their own for the side of the bed..

Headlights!!!!!! Hopefully Ford has their act together this time!!! I have been test driving 6.7's, and I have noticed their headlights are terrible! My Miata outshines the 6.7.....

And the supplemental cab heater would be soooooo nice!

As far as the tuning goes, my experience with my 7.3(admittedly a very different beast from a 6.7) was that I got the best MPG by far in my hottest tune. Selectable tunes are nice more for trans shifting than anything else in my opinion.

Light output sure does need work. Luckily the aftermarket makes lightbars. Love mine. Hate having to turn it off when oncoming traffic comes!

Ford has had these on the F150 since 09 I think. I'd be really surprised if it doesn't make it to the SD this time around.

Thought I would update this. Hometown shoots went well. Next week I'm headed to KTP to see them in person for the first time. Really excited about that. Obviously, I'm not allowed to speak much on what I hear and see until the time is right, but I do like like to pass on the questions and comments we as a forum bring up.

With that said, I leave for Kentucky Tuesday evening. Let you know how it goes.

If you can, let us know how the passenger footwell area is on this truck. I'm hoping they've increase the amount of room where the passengers feet can go.
