I saw an interesting video that showed the rear axle of the F450. It's definitely not the Dana S130 that the current F450 uses. Looks like a Dana 80 but with a few differences like the lower hump on the right side of the cover. This is interesting because the claimed point of Ford using Aluminum on the SD was to reduce weight so they could outfit it with larger axles and components. Anyone else notice this?

Also at this same time in the clip, anyone notice the wire on the passenger side of the rear diff? Seems unlikely, but could Ford be offering the locking rear diff on the duallys now?
The brake calipers appear to be substantially larger.
lol
The front camera has a spray nozzle that pops out to clean it!
Ford already offered this on the outgoing Raptor. They should offer it for the more important, rear backup camera, but alas...it costs more money to run washer fluid hose all the way to the back of the truck compared to the front.
That's awesome! Definitely jealous here as well. Would be an experience to kick ideas around with some of those guys. Do you know when or where this show will air?
Larger fuel tank is a must and more user friendly nav/dash/entertainment system.
Not sure if newer models have this but factory DEF gauge in cluster (i know it can be added on screen but why not make it show by default or at least let driver turn on/off not dealer).
What is involved in getting the DEF gauge on the cluster? I have the digital dash in mine and there are some blank screens I'd like to fill.
26? Mine has a 38. What configuration do you have?
Only the long-bed trucks got the 38 gallon tanks on the diesel, and even then it was only the long-bed extended cab and crew cab. Regular cab trucks, plus all the others with the 6.8' bed, get only a 26 gallon tank.
For instance, my F-350 crew cab with the 6.8' bed has the 26 gallon tank.
It is kind of annoying, considering my previous gas truck, with the exact same configuration, came with a 35 gallon tank.
The problem lies in making space for the 5-gallon DEF tank and the DFCM. Titan tanks has the solution, if you don't mind your tank sitting a little lower.

Right now, you can only access DEF levels through the "System Check" function where it will tell you "less than 1/2," "less than 1/4," etc. You cannot add a screen or anything like that. He is referring to the 2017 model which uses the 2015 F-150's big 8" LCD screen between the gauges and appears to add functionality. The Ford system uses 4 electrode probes in the tank to gauge the level of DEF. There is no float gauge. The RAM trucks have a DEF gauge, but it only "estimates" DEF level because it too uses the electrode probes to gauge the level of DEF. I'm not sure if Ford intends to add an electronic DEF "gauge" to the 2017 model, but quite frankly, I wouldn't want to see a static gauge that barely moves for weeks at a time. I'm perfectly content with the current setup.
I can't stand the 26 gallon tank in my crew cab , it's ridiculous. I lost a bet to my friend about his tank. We had the same truck at the time, mine was 2009 crew cab short bed diesel, his was 2010 crew cab short bed diesel. I said he had the 26 gallon tank, I guess in 2010 they had a 30.5 Gallon tank... Go figure.
