Got a ton of small jobs done on the herd over the weekend.
Red EB converted to electronic ing, floor pan patch on ol red, carb work on ol blue, cleaned the shop. Blew the cob webs outa the other Bronco. Picked up tune up parts and more welding wire.
Got to cut the wood out of the 8' x 12' deck on my 88 f450, still choking on sawdust, glad it's going to a fire pit down the street lol. This is another one of those trucks that keeps on paying, sure like that part. This is my pre winter clean up and prep week, Blaaah, but it's gotta git dun. Yard clean up around here usually produces benefits.
'Didn't get squat done today.... it was 90° at noon and 100° at 4 PM. Did laundry, watched football and the NASCAR race, and tidied up some paperwork.
At 6 PM I headed over one of the rental houses to edge and cut the grass - it's currently vacant. 'Discovered the dead man lever's cable is frozen (or melted) on the mower... had to zip-tie the switch on to start it and then cut the zip tie to kill the engine. Oy.
Took a while to download this but my buddy Dwight came across these a few months ago, had my name on it he said.
We did a 2 truck float load move to save time and when the job was done we found out there was no carbon in his receipt book. Tore out the top sheet and put under the right side of the book and printed both receipts at the same time. Messed up the customer a bit but Dwight just told them that I had 2 left hands and played it cool. Got back to the trucks it was WTF time, didn't know I was left handed but printed with my right because it's easier. lol
I spent the last four days at my sister's place. I went over to help my BIL with his 1949 PU's. He has a F2 and an F1. He lost the head gasket on the F1 and the F2 needed a clutch. He broke a head bolt off in the block so we had that to deal with also.
It didn't take us the whole 4 days but almost. He's even older than me at 78 so it's kind of a circus most of the time. Once you're down you gotta wait for the other one to pull you back up.
I got some small honey do's done this weekend mamma had for me.
We installed the parking brake return spring on **** truck, finished the disassemble of his disc brake front end and installed sound mat in the passenger door. Dropped off I-beam and spindle at the alignment shop to press out king pin this morning.
I found a 20 ton press for less than $200, but I have no more room in my garage to place it.
My (much) better half helping to give Brutus a good interior cleaning . We pulled out the seats to give full access.
Also pulled the dash apart to replace the non-functional wiper switch. While in there I replaced the (also non-functional) Blauplunket radio/cassette deck installed by a PO and installed an original AM (only) Ford radio. I pulled it out of an old truck this summer . No music on AM around here, but I do get a sports station and a news/talk station. Better 'n nothin'. Deleted the under-dash CB player.
Pulled off and re-built the carb. Unfortunately, during reassembly the new, cheap, fuel filter broke off inside the carb . Getting that taken care of this week.
Finally installed my new (to me) horn pad and replaced the driver side tail light housing. It's crazy how much of an aesthetic difference little things like that can make.

My architecture professor said back in the day, "Make every piece a work of art".
