They are just fine then, match them and be on your way. They are probably already matched, I'd just make sure if it were me.

I need some help. I don't know which direction the rods go back in. I numbered them but didn't think to label which side goes forward.

Does it matter which way they face?

I'm sure it matters, I haven't had one a part so I can't say. Look up skyjason , or I'm sure some one will pop in soon.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure the rods are symmetrical other than the tab for bearing. I don't think it matters.

Great question! I hope we can get an authoritive answer.

I think I did it right. At least I hope I did! I rotated the assembly and there is no binding.

I put the chamfer side towards the counter weight which puts the numbers on the rod and cap facing away from the crank.

I'm just trying to make sure I don't F anything up.

That's the way I would of done it if I didn't take note when removing them. Keep us posted on the build.

That would be the correct way to a connecting rod with a large chamfer on one side. This chamfer matches up with the radius on the rod journal next to the throw (counter weight). Rods are usually numbered with them facing out to the pan rail on their corresponding side of the block. These are the general rules on any engines I've rebuilt.

Confirmed. I tore another engine down today. The numbers on rod and cap face away from the crank.

Thanks guys! I'm glad I did it right no way in hell I would want to tear it all apart.

Arp head studs on

Both heads are on now. Going to do injectors rocker arms and push rods tonight. Don't mind the jack I don't trust this engine stand.

I installed my frx crossover last night and high flow fittings. I went to hook up my fuel lines and they won't reach. I looked at some diagrams of the fuel lines from bowl to head. They all show steel lines passenger to the rear of head and driver to the front. Both of mine are rubber lines to the front of both heads. Has anyone seen this?

Im confused why my setup is nothing like the diagrams I'm finding.

There should be a plug in the ends of the rails, both front and rear. I guess you could have fuel lines on either end.

What won't reach?

Are BOTH your stock lines on the FRONT of the rails? The FRX from RR is made to go front of one, rear of other, so one wouldn't reach the other rear, if your system is both on the front.

I have the frx going to the back of the driver side and the front of the passenger side.

I went to put my stock fuel lines one one to the back of the passenger and one to the front of the driver. My stock fuel lines are really short. The guy before me mist of had them going to the front of both driver and passenger head.
I don't know why it is like that..

The passenger side fuel line is known to rub through on a clamp just over half way back.

I wonder if the PO had a leak there and just decided to shorten the line for convenience?
