The block is finally done. They went .030 over on the new block. The goodies should be here this week.
List of parts

Pistons
-Wrist pin bushings

I'm excited to get this thing going!
I have a few more things to clean and paint. Everything should be ready soon.

Don't sweat that! Cut the bolt as close to manifold as possible, then use vise grips or stud removal tool - it will come right out of the head.

The bolts seize in the manifold. They come out with help of our friends oxy-acetylene, the punch and hammer. Be sure to use high temp antiseize liberally in this area when you put it back together.

I did this for a friend last year. He came back with green paint and I was like are you sure??? But it turned out nice!!

Thanks! I cut it and got it right out. That looks sick! I dig the black with green.

I just found out my boss is giving me the week off after Christmas so I should have it all back together and in. (I'm hoping)

Should I replace the lifters? I have everything already but I totally forgot about them :/

Also I want to clean the black crap off of the injector nozzles. Any suggestions on what to use? Brake cleaners?

If your using the same cam just put them back in the same hole as removed. If new cam, new lifters.

Another noob question.

I had the lip on the bowl machined off of my new Pistons. Will I have to have the rotating assembly re-balanced?

It's a good idea but no, but you do have to weigh each piston and make then the same.

Like all the Pistons should weigh the same?
Also them being .030 over will that cause any problems down the road without balancing?

Rotating parts should always be balanced. So if the old parts were balanced stock, the 30 over pistons should be matched to. Have it done or get a scale and do it your self with pins and rings,.

I've been researching balancing Pistons. Everything I found says to remove metal to match weight. What if my new Pistons are lighter than my stock ones? The new ones are 3-8 grams lighter than my stock ones.

Shouldn't make a difference, just match them. Where did you get them? you want high quality for a diesel.
