OK the stalling was just probably just air in the system, took her a long spin with forced downshifts, checked oil all good, coolant all good,
Took out the oil filter and no metal, no nada just clean motor oil. Still has little blow by fumes but no pressure behind it, might hook up a trailer to get her nice and toasty so the rings cab settle in.
Still having a hard time posting pics I'll try and screen **** them as that has worked before.
Just few pics, will try and load a video to u tu of the truck running.
had to install a new AC line as I tore the old one while trying to take out the engine, and had to replace the high pressure power steering line as that too got damaged (didnt notice the line was rubbing with the PS pulley.
So far 60 miles on the engine, running g good with no leaks and no oil in the cooling system.
I'm glad she's back in action, now comes the wet sanding and polishing as the sun took a toll on the paint job., but that's for another day as I'm kinda rapping up the 70 monte carlo, and jI ust finished rebuilding and installing an engine on my 98 honda civic on saturdsy, next comes paint job as well.
Been driving it on the weekends, need to figure out why my fuel pump shuts off, tried 2 pumps same result, direct lead it and still the same it's like it's overheating, not sure if it's the regulator making the pump work OT and over heats and shuts down or if the heat from the exhaust/ car making it over heat. Next step is moving it or insulating it.
Over all car runs well, underpowered but runs well enough.
Plan on just saying Fak it and going TBI with one of those Sniper IFI systems.
You might check aces. I got an aces killshot for the 390 in my 76 f150. I have not used it yet but lots have had good results and man is it more affordable.. I'm not a sniper fan tho. Holley has better options.

I'll take a look at those too, not bought on which one I will get as the car is on the back burner right now.
all I know is I don't want a carb
I've run Fitech and Sniper units on cars I've had. Both work same. Heard some folks had issues with Fitechs quality, but I never had an issue. The sniper was great, takes a bit to adjust and learn but it works like it's supposed to. Carbs are ancient trash in my opinion, you're on the right track to want to go with efi.
Holley of course has "better" systems available, but is you want a no fuss efibsetup the Sniper is hard to be. Or any similar tbi setup I'd imagine. I think Summt had one too for cheap.
