Wife's car is done finally, ended up costing me about $760 for the fuel pump, a new gas cap, and install on the pump.

A $760 bill for a fuel pump, OUCH! With the newer cars n trucks that fuel pump is a way different job than it sure used to be. But there are day's where I'd rather pay somebody else to do that kind of job just so I don't have to fool with it. Glad her car is up and running again.

Sounds like you'd better get busy Matt. But please don't say that "W" word again. I'm not ready for it.

The pump by its self was $460. He said it took him just over 4 hours to pull/install the tank while on the lift. It's wedged in over top of the rear control arms. It was worth the $290 he charged for me to not have to lay in the driveway to do it.

got the last bits done...

bad ones on bottom... i swear i hate that it sprung 2 weeks outside of the warranty... friend got ford to warranty it anyways.. but never got the new one after making numerous calls.. it apparently had shown back up at the warehouse a little over a month ago.. was shipped back out but still never got it.. so just bought another from another place.. nice thing is Lifetime Warranty on this one..

how it shouldnt look..

how it should look..

and now i got fuel pressure readings in the truck YAY!!!.. the biggest difference between the GS and the Teltek fuel gauge ive noticed.. is the GS was RT readouts.. where the Teltek has a 3 second delay to it. not a big deal in my opinion though...

I'm with you completely, some jobs I just do not want to do. Before we moved I helped a good neighbor change out a bad heater core in his 99 F150. I'd fight a pro boxer before I'd do that again. It took us two day's to get that done in his driveway.
Never again

Been through a few of these too. When I was a fleet mechanic back home our service trucks ran their air compressors off of a PTO. And must of the older trucks in the fleet were manual transmissions. And these guy's would go through the pedal for the parking brake, or just some how manage to bust the cables.

Exactly....

Now to hope I fixed the egr code on my 97 f150. I went over and pulled a sensor off my parents 2000 expedition (it's got a blown engine) to try. It was a slightly different design but bolted and plugged up, so we will see if it works. I really don't wanna have to pull the throttle body off to clean the egr ports.

Well here's what we've been working on this last weekend.
It's in the early stages, it will get more lights, and then all of them will be more uniformed too. Then one more to make and get strung with lights.
We're hoping their a nice addition to the Christmas light Display for this year.

Cool to know we have so many smart and industrious folks in our chapter.

Glad yall are getting your repairs done **cough*cough*Matt* I'm in the same boat. My list of things to do is always growing. Seems like I can never catch up. Spent half the day Saturday under the house and behind the dryer trying to get the vents fixed and working and the second part of the day cutting up and moving a 125ft pine that was on the ground. Anyone need some nice fat pine firewood? Love my little stihl. Shes' a workhorse. Then got to enjoy a cookout later that same day with some friends. I was tuckered out.

Bob, your tree is cool. Looks like lightning at times. I may have had a mini stroke staring at the video though. We will have to put your house on our Christmas lights house list. We ride around every year. Make a night of it.

Got word from the dealer.. Batteries failed.. YAY.. which theyre going to replace under the 36 month warranty.. that the good news..

BAD news.. also have a Dieing alternator theyre suspecting to be the cause.. apparently was only putting out like 40 some amps instead of the 140 it was supposed to be doing.. and also got an ABS light i didnt know about.. never saw it lit on the dash. so theyre checking on if the trucks warranty will cover the other 2 now.. kinda wonder if that abs lights not from that plug on the inner fender that keeps coming apart.. didnt think about that when i was talking to him...

Could be.

Got the DPFE switched on my truck, I've got 130 miles on it and no check engine light yet. So it appears that sensor cured the egr low flow. I noticed a slight miss fire though, so I guess I'll wait until it pops a code so I know what plug to change. Gotta wait until the beginning of Sept to get the truck inspected though.
