Slightly off topic, but this is interesting to me...how do you get a license plate for a vehicle without a title? Sounds like a criminals heaven
Alabama doesn't title anything over 35 years old. All you need to do is take the Bill of sale, driver license, and proof of insurance to DMV - pay taxes on the purchase and they issue you a tag. This makes finding parts easy for your old truck..LOL Just kidding.. not sure why its that way.. but it beats all the mess i have read about other states and smog control requirements...
It's the same here in Georgia. The bill of sale constitutes ownership on vehicles so old that they are likely to have a missing title. It's probably just to smooth the way to more tax receipts. If the database works correctly, only one vehicle can be registered anyway.
