For the longest time, I have wondered how many trucks I was actually driving. Well, I finally found the frame VIN and from what I can tell, it looks like I'm driving one truck! The frame VIN and the door plate appear to agree, so that's good news. However, I do think there's a mistake on my registration. The VIN on the registration is F10HCED**** and looks to be the number on the warranty plate on the driver's door. However, when I checked on the internet, I found that there would be no such VIN and that the D should actually be a 0. This would mean my VIN is F10HCE0**** instead.

The frame VIN is F10HC ****4. There seems to just be a space where the E and the D or 0, whatever it is, should be. Then, after the four digits which do agree, there is a 4. So, I'm wondering if the D is really a 0? Also, why is there a 4 after the frame VIN, but not the door VIN?

 

VIN contains 11 digits. 1st 3 is the series code: F10 = F100 2WD // 4th digit is a letter for the engine size: H = 390 2V // 5th digit is a letter for the assembly plant: C = Oakville Ontario Canada.

The last 6 digits is the numerical sequence of assembly aka serial number. 1967/77 begins with a letter followed by 5 numbers. E0**** = 1969.

1969 serial number range: D82001-G30000
