Start off by saying it's been a LOOONG time since I've been here. Switched trucks quite a bit since then. Now have a 1990 Bronco XLT 5.8 with 80k original miles.
Can't get it to go into code mode. Tried the trick with grounding the code wire. Still won't do it. But here's what I know:
-Won't start without starter fluid
-Turn the key to run and the pump runs, but doesn't shut off
-There is gas
-If I push the bleeder nozzle on the fuel rail while the pump is on, fuel will dribble out but not spray hard (low pressure?)
-Can't pull any codes and not sure why (don't have a check engine light just wondered if there was something there) Won't enter the flashing mode at all.

Any other help would be awesome. Thanks!
The items in bold above are classic symptoms of a failed computer. Pull out the PCM (computer), open it up and inspect for signs of leaking capacitors. Another very common problem.
The guy I bought it from put a brand new battery in 2 weeks ago and hadn't driven it. Wonder if that fried something.
Anyway, was poking around and this Bronco is amazing. No rust and doesn't look like anyone has molested a thing on it. Found the build sheet under the back carpet which is original yet looks new. Think I got a good deal at $1,800?
F0TF-PD is a PCM for a 5.8L bronco w/E4OD transmission AND California emissions. If you live in Cali. you need one of those. If not you could look for a similar year PCM from a Bronco/F150 with a 5.8L/E4OD combination. Approximately 1988 to 1993.
