Stop in at the Montana Chapter if ya feel like.........
Hey all! Upgraded from a bumper pull to a KZ Durango Gold, G382MBQ. 40'4", the big blue dually doesn't even know it's back there. 2020 F350 DRW 4x4 in velocity blue; 2019 K-Z Durango Gold G382MBQ, 40'4", 13,300 approx dry weight Sitting at the Tom Mix monument, hwy 79, AZ
Is that a ranch hand grill guard (critter guards as we call them in MT) ??
are the fasteners to the bumper and upper "stout" ? (is it more than 1/4" thick where the Ranch hand secures to the vehicle?) I would appreciate pics close up of the connection points. Ive been shying away due to the photos I see, the newer Ranch Hands don't have the girth for support that I've seen in past models.
My Ranch hand on our 2000 F350 (Truck camper duty now...) it built like a sherman tank but these new ones.....I'm skeptical on the connection points. 1/4" of steel doesn't do **** for a deer at 65 mph.

Congrats! Look like that somebody is all ready to go camping that is one nice setup.

Hey Big Mak, sorry I haven't had time to get your pics - we have to be still for a while first....LOL!! Anyway, here's what we were told about the Ranch Hand. This one they actually call a "brush guard". It is for lower speed contact, and more to protect from breaking headlights, etc. if you come in contact with brush, wayward ranch gates, etc. The critter guard, the one you want to protect the front of the truck from high speed collisions, is the one that has the replacement bumper built into it, and it's huge and super heavy.
