New to the IDI world, just picked up my first one in a trade.
1985 ECLB, seems to run well, typical fuel leaks on the injector returns and what not, glow plugs dont seem to work, gets the clicky clicky going on. Not familure with the GP system on these, I do know how to test them. Isn't there something with the controllers on these that go out? I'll have to check the FAQ.
I have wanted one for some time, has a old school warn winch on the front, runs and drives nice, gotta get the starting issuse worked out before I can start driving it, going to check SCA, was just wondering if theres anything else I should look for, it wont shut off on its own, they have a switch rigged up, not too worried about it though. Heres some pics:
Think I found out why he wanted it gone, pry doesn't start very well with out GPS
A lot of people around here sport that sticker, you get them in the Outer Banks, NC. Pretty cool area once you get past the tourist part. It's where Kitty Hawk is (wright brothers)
Wow that's sweet! I'm pretty excited, I have the Powerstroke in my Sig below, and now this. I've always wanted an idi. This deal was just right so I pounced.
Ether is fine.....until the gp controller decides to work once....
i always made sure power was disconnected to the gp relay before squirting.
That's the way to do it if you have to, but it's best just to avoid it altogether. The horrible noise these IDI's make when firing off of ether is the detonation before the piston reaches TDC and that's not healthy for any engine.
Oh yeah I know better on the either, that is getting,f fixed pronto. Light comes on for 10 seconds or so then it starts clicking on and off. Is this normal operation?
And yeah that's a check of a bumper and winch. Not sure if that's a custom job or not. I like it up there!
