Is it possible for it to leak up and not leak internally? I was looking at head gaskets and I believe that is a coolant port in that corner. If thats the case I'm betting thats pry where my leak is. Other than this it runs fine, power is good and no coolant in oil or vice versa.

Another question, can I just replace the gasket and be ok, or is there anything that needs to be done with the head when its off?

Sorry for all the questions.

The only thing you need to apologize for is apologizing so much lmao

Im sure it could, oil passages and fire ring could be completely intact, just the coolant passage is fubar. Pretty sure the 6.9s were known to leak on the corner too. If its the port im thinking, the 7.3 came with that passage plugged in the block, even though it was just a gasket issue. As far as replacing the gasket, if the surfaces all clean up good you should be fine. If not then resurfacing will be in order.

Sounds like something is definately up with your cooling system though. I would definately flush it.

first thing i would do is clean the intake area real good. then pressurize the radiator and see if coolant is indeed leaking from that spot.
if it is, i would pull the intake first. you may be lucky and find a leaking intake gasket.

That would be nice if it was that simple.

I don't think any pressure test is required, I squeezed the top hose and I can see coolant coming up in that spot by cyl 2, Pretty certain that is the source of the leak.

Pry from that moron before me shooting ether in it.

There is and there isn't.

I didn't think there was and was about to say so, but I figured I'd check first to be sure. I still have my '86 6.9 apart.

Good thing too, there is not a coolant crossover in the intake.

BUT, there is a provision for it in the heads. In the front of the head there is an open water jacket that dead ends at the intake.

So it is very possible that is what's leaking here.
