New egr options

I need to buy a new valve. I see some that are 160 and some for 80. What brand do you all recommend or where to buy from

NOT Ebay. If you want to go that route
send me the $80 + shipping and I toss
something in a box for you and we can
call it good. Then you can go to Ford and
get a good one with a 2 year warrantee.

I pulled up white bear. It was 172 and a 30 core. I will call my local ford Monday and see what the price is. And go from their

I wish I had that fordparts.com link before. I live in Canada and my local dealer quoted me $460 for the EGR valve, plus a $40 core charge until I return the old valve. I had to resort to Ebay. I had a weird experience with my valve, it had to rotated 180 degrees to get it to fit the bolt holes, also I had a bent pin so needed to straighten that. It seems to be working good. I believe this was a part manufactured for Ford, but rejected as a second, I think it was assembled and clamped together out of phase to the base by this 180 degrees. I paid 120 plus shipping plus 30 duty into Canada. So for what it's worth, order ford.

Go into ford parts and select your truck and motor and then you will get the right one. I do know there are really only two EGR valves for 6.0, the earlier version for 2003 - 2004, and the later version, for 2005 and up. If it helps mine was 2005 and up and part is listed as 5C37-9F452-AA.

One says egr valve assy for $65 and one says EGR Valve Modulator Assy. And that's 170

Having said all that, since the Autozone is close by and the thing is fairly easy to replace, I might opt for Autozone because of the lifetime warranty.

Even if the FOMOCO one is "better" I'd still get the one with the lifetime warranty because the Ford EGR valve is the one that failed in the first place!
