How to get the best prices at Auto Nation (Tousley) and $9.95 overnight shipping

I use Auto Nation (formerly Tousley) for most of my parts needs, but I noticed that when I purchase directly from the old Tousleyfordparts.com link, they charge me more for shipping. Same link if you use parts.autonationford.com.

So I have resorted to using fordparts.com to order my parts and selecting Auto Nation Ford at White Bear Lake, MN (Formerly Tousley Ford) for all my parts needs. They have been the cheapest for OEM parts. Their prices are 5% over dealer cost from what I am told. The cool thing is that I can compare and shop with other dealers at this same link, so if someone else says that Sunrise Ford is cheaper for X part, I can just select Sunrise as my parts dealer and I get their price, shipping is ALWAYS the same, no matter who I select to shop with. If your local dealer is cheaper, you can go ahead and pick it up and save on shipping. Shipping rates are as low as $7.95 for FedEx Ground and $9.95 for FedEx Overnight.

*the 'catch' for OVERNIGHT shipping is that you won't necessarily get overnight delivery from the time of ordering. The Parts Dept may not ship your part until the next day, but you get Overnight from the the time of shipping.

Shipping Rates:

Now we can move on to the How-To:

1. Navigate to Official Ford Parts Site | Buy Motorcraft & OEM Ford Parts Online | FordParts.com

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page at fordparts.com and click on 'Select Dealer'

3. This brings up a Search Page where you have two choices. Enter the Zip Code (55110 for Auto Nation Ford)

or you can do a search for 'White Bear, MN'. I tried White Bear Lake, MN, but for whatever reason it doesn't return any dealerships. Weird.

4. The search will return the list of Dealers within 25 miles of whatever you searched. Select AutoNation Ford White Bear Lak

5. The next screen asks you to verify that you selected the correct Dealership. Go ahead and click 'Continue' here.

6. There are a few ways to verify that you are IN FACT shopping for parts prices using Auto Nation. After you perform a search for parts... you will verify that Auto Nation is selected. Red arrows all point to the verification:

7. If you want to save Auto Nation and any other Dealership so that you don't have to go through these steps each time, then you will need to Register an account.

8. Once you have registered, you can click the link again for Select Dealer

When you do, all the Dealerships that you have saved/searched will be listed. You can just select 'Shop this Dealer'.

I recently did the same thing ordering parts for a buddy's 2004 Freestar. For instance the IMRC Module was $127 @ "Tousely aka White Bear" and $134 thru Ford-Parts.com via White Bear, but shipping was superior thru Ford Parts.

That's weird. I get the same pricing on the parts I have ordered. I haven't noticed an cost discrepancy. Just ordered a new tailgate top molding and bumper valance. Same prices at Autonation or fordparts shopping thru auto nation dealer. I wonder if yours was ordered shortly before they took full ownership from Tousley and that's why?

This was 2 days ago...

As for the top tailgate moulding, eBay is the cheapest I have seen.

Thanks, I checked eBay. I got the tailgate molding from AutoNation for $46.55 and paid $9.95 for overnight shipping for 2 other parts. So total of 3 parts shipped for $9.95!!!! The bumper valance and the overhead console storage door. Mine were all broke. Also, the top tailgate molding on eBay says that you MUST use double-sided tape to mount it. BOOOOO!. My OEM tailgate molding has the clips and spots to screw it down to the tailgate. (hidden under tailgate panel) No more lost tailgate modling!

All parts were OEM.. The cheapeast price on eBay for OEM top tailgate molding is $50.44 and $16.95 shipping.

Just wanted to update. I received a 5ft box with a bumper valance and 2 other parts. I paid $9.95 for overnight shipping and $1.99 handling fee. Total $116.18. (no tax) I ordered the parts on a Monday and they were delivered on a Wednesday. My dealer wanted $143.23 and had to order the parts too...

Total Savings: $28.94 (including tax)

After years of doing business with Larry H. Miller Ford here in Utah they want to charge me full list for everything.

I know what you mean, I have a local dealer that switched owners and they used to hook me up too. It's full MSRP for everything now. I have to use another dealer out of principal. Both of them act like you're hassling them by even walking in the door. Hate that. That's why I use Auto Nation as much as possible.

I use Tousley because they have great prices and are 20 minutes away from me. That sure is nice.

You lucky dog! I have a big ATV parts place that is only 2 miles from my house. They do a lot of selling on eBay and I get good deals just walking in. Wish I had a very good powerstroke or OEM dealer close by. $7.95 or $9.95 isn't too bad though.

**** just wanted to point out that the shipping is MUCH cheaper going through fordparts.com than going through the direct link to the dealership and that's why I made this post...
