Stinky spikes should never happen - they are a sign that the demand for oil is too high, or the supply of oil is too low. Supply too low is easy to explain - weak LPOP or HPOP (which is very rare). Too much demand can be a number of things, like bad O-rings or another ICP leak - or a tune that's asking for more than the injectors can deliver. If you ask for more than 100% out of any injector, the ICP will sag, the IPR will climb, and the ICP will spike after you let off the throttle. The same will happen if you ask for up to 100% out of weak injectors or an engine with an ICP leak.

Look into the Hydra chip... You can run anyone's tunes on that chip, and there is no concern of a "run away" by switching from different hex codes. Only thing you may experience is a hiccup or stall.

I bet with a change to Powerstruck, or PHP or Gearhead tunes you will notice how much quieter your truck idles and drives down the road...

Here is a truck with 230/100's, a stock 17* HPOP, an H2e turbo and NO firewall insulation...

No difference between the Hydra and new F6 in this regard. What can happen on one can happen on the other.

I think the Hydra has more to offer... Better platform IMHO.

Ah... I was just thinking in terms of mixing base calibrations on the same switch-on-the-fly chip.

As for who will tune on the new F6, there seems to be a reluctance to use a DP platform (DP F8 as a case in point). Although... the same could have been said of the Hydra 8 months ago - nobody but PHP was tuning for the Hydra when it was first introduced. The F6 dynamic could change in the coming months, but I thought Infinity could take other tuners as well, and that's had plenty of time on the market. Am I wrong about Infinity taking other tuners?

Ok I'll bite....

The issue with being reluctant is they're calling the wrong people.

The F6 v2 is now open source, period. Emailed tunes are encrypted and they are locked to an unique serial number to each chip. What people are afraid of is others being able to read tunes off. This function is not allowed on the firmware of our F6 v.1, F6 v2 or F8 chip. Jody doesn't even have the capability to do this. He specifically asked Moates to not give it to him.

Unfortunately, the INFINITY is not our call. We tried hard to get it open source, but no go.

No you don't want to mix codes on a chip. Who wants their truck to stall out while on a 5% grade towing 15k lbs?
