This is what I ended up with after tearing it apart.

cj: I have never torn a turbo apart before. What is that big cracked washer doohickey and where does it go?*

The horseshoe shaped doohickey is the thrust bearing. It's on the backside of the compressor cover. It has to take a heck of a shot to break that.

The housing didn't have any damage. The stripped nut on the compressor wheel is from how hard it came off. Not sure if that's what broke the thrust bearing too or what, but it just fell out when I got it apart.

Well my turbine shaft came in the mail today. Hopefully I can get this beast up and running tomorrow.

I got to say Barder Turbo has great customer service. I haven't heard much about them on FTE, but when i called Friday, almost an hour after they were supposed to close, he took the time to explain why I should get a new (rebuilt) shaft and how to properly install it and the compressor wheel. I probably talked to him for about a half hour. I'm pretty sure he went in on Saturday because he said he had to build the shaft and wheel. and got it shipped fairly quick.

That's why us 6.0 folks love Barder

Got it going but it's taking a few seconds to start. Hope that's because of the air in the oil.

In the 80e it really smokes when you step into it. Like throwing a tire on a bonfire. Other than that I'm really happy with it. On the maiden voyage I hit 32psi boost, probably could have got it higher but I was going fast enough.

Took a video of it running with vc's off I'll post it when I get home later.

How are these kind of air intakes. Will it flow enough air or would the 6637 be better.

It's an AFE stage 2 with a spectre filter.

looks like an OCR and hutch mod are next on the list. Went to the store and The boost is getting high enough to set the CEL light off. I have my ISSPRO fuel gauge set for the warning light to come on at 45psi, and it was coming on about the time I was letting off to shift.

Is it worth it to go with a bigger fuel line when doing the hutch mod. Was thinking about going with Riffraffs new fuel filter but I already have a rancor and kind of like the idea of a clear bowl to see if there is any air coming thru.

I know nothing of the Spectre - but I have never had a filter collapse, I don't like that. AFE stage II will out-breathe a 6637 all day, but the S&B is quieter.

3/8" fuel line is all you need, just make sure the fit is tight on the tank tube - I had to double-clamp mine to get it to seal. I have 5/16" line from the pre-filter to the pump - the pump has a 5/16" fitting and I wanted a tight seal. My Racor pre-filter has 3/8" fittings on both sides (to prevent restriction) and getting the 5/16" hose over that was an adventure.

Thanks Rich.

Filter collapse? You're scaring me..

I don't know if anyone remembers, but last spring I was diagnosing cold start issues. It wouldn't start if the oil temp was below 70deg. after all the testing we determined I needed injectors. Well I'm happy to say it started right up this morning. Oil temp was 50deg. I turned key, waited for WTS light to go out then started!!!

This seems a bit smokey, is it normal? I emailed Jdoy but don't expect to hear back until Monday.
