I can't remember my door code and don't want to take it to the ford dealership and pay. I know there is a code up under somewhere but I can't find it? 2005 f-250 lariat. Any step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated!
It's on the VSM behind the radio. But you can't
get at it that way. I read something about pulling
the little storage tray out next to the driver and using
you smartphone to take photos up in the space. Also
there was something about moving the insulation to
get a clear look at the number. The other really easy way
is to use a inspection scope to look up there.
Displaying the Factory Set Code
Note: You will need to have two
programmed passive anti-theft keys for this
procedure.
To display the factory-set code in the
information display:
1. Insert a key into the ignition and switch
the ignition on for a few seconds.
2. Switch the ignition off and remove the
key.
3. Insert the second key into the ignition
and switch the ignition on.
The factory-set code will display for a few
seconds.
Note: The code may not display until after
any other warning messages first display.

The dealer gave me my OE Code & they didn't charge a dime, call em & ask
You right that they don't. Because no PATS
But it is a neat trick for the newer ones that do.
Do you have your factory manual, its on the back of a card in the pouch.
You can always try 11311 they all came with that number till you put your own in, you would be surprised how many fords that still works on, I got into a lady's explorer in a 7-11 she locked her keys in.
I think I found the most detailed info in the Excursion section.
IN my 2005 F250, the code is plain as day if you drop down the driver side storage tray and shine a flashlight toward the firewall. It is on a big sticker on the module back there.
